Havana Tropical Grill Restaurant is a hidden gem in a weathered old building. The Cuban culture is evident with vintage cars and authentic decorations. The friendly staff serves delicious food with generous portions, including flavorful plantains and a mouthwatering Cuban sandwich. Guests can enjoy a variety of rum and tequila drinks, some infused with pomegranate and guava, before indulging in well-prepared entrees. Prices are reasonable, making this spot a must-visit for an authentic taste of Cuba near downtown Rogers Square.
The owner is very personable and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, despite the limited parking options nearby. The updated patio offers a great outdoor dining experience. Customers praise the fresh, delicious food, particularly the Cuban sandwich, mofongo, and camarones al ajillo. The in-house made salsa and tasty mojito flight are also highlights. The restaurant is kid-friendly, with an outdoor eating area. Many visitors find the food flavorful and fair in quantity for the price, and the friendly staff makes sure guests are well taken care of. The Mojito flight and Margojito are often enjoyed, and the pork in the Cuban sandwich is described as melting in the mouth, making the experience scrumptious. The atmosphere is fun and the service efficient, with some guests recommending the torta Cubana and suggesting it’s a must-try dish.
