The Captain’s Seat at Prairie Creek Marina

Hours show open on Weds. took an hour boat ride today. They are closed!!!!! Today is Sunday. Came down for breakfast and two for two. Not open again. This time it’s either they ran out of food or one of their coolers went down. Depending on who you ask. I asked if they let people know and they said not really. Maybe sometimes on facebook. I think I am done spending money here. Too bad

It's just sad that they don't serve you and you have to get your own utensils and napkins but yet you spend $81 not including tip for a family of four. It's infuriating too that when we want to stay out later and eat there at 8:15/8:20 they have already closed on a Friday night after they state online they close at 9. So now we're scram

7/16/25 - We stopped in at The Captain’s Seat in Prairie Creek on a Wednesday evening around 5pm. After placing our order, just a few minutes later the manager, Sean, came by and let us know they had run out of propane due to a vendor delivery issue. As a small business owner myself, I completely understand these things happen.

Sean went above and beyond to make it right. Not only did he refund our full bill, but he also made sure we didn’t leave hungry—offering us a selection of fresh wraps on the house. We tried the chicken, bacon, and ranch wraps along with a few other options, and they really hit the spot.

Things don’t always go as planned in business, but how you handle it matters most. Sean handled it perfectly with great customer service and generosity.

Kudos to Sean and his staff for doing the right thing and putting customers first. We will definitely be back!

First off…Google maps shows this place on land. It is not. Walk out to the collection if boat docks. It’s a BYOB place…apparently waiting on their liquor license. Not really what we were expecting.

We love the Captains Seat! Such good food. The people are friendly too. The fish and chips are amazing, cheese curds and pesto chicken all amazing.

This is not the old JJ’s and it is not intended to be. It is no frills pub type grub and the food was just what we needed. Walk and order and they bring the food out. You can eat inside or out. Pretty much get your own drink. Keep the craft beer stocked and will be in there for your food.

After reading the reviews, I was sceptical about coming here, but my husband was determined to check it out. We ordered fish & chips and onion rings … and let me add that everything is better with beer! We dined outside and enjoyed the atmosphere of the lake and the beautiful sky (which was on fire!). I would recommend getting out of the house and coming down to The Captain’s Seat with someone’s company that you’d enjoy! We will be back!

Disappointed. Not the experience that it used to be under the previous ownership. No one waiting the tables, prices are overpriced for the quality. Fish and chips were more like a fast food restaurant’s. I live nearby and used to frequent this place all the time. Was not impressed today.

Pretty good food. Great if you’re camping or boating at Prairie Creek. A little hard to find if you don’t know it’s actually located on the floating Marina.

35 minutes sitting at the table just to take our order. Good luck getting drink refills. Waitress tried her best but with no management support. Bar tender when we arrived was extremely rude. This lake could use more food options.

We were in the area on a Thursday afternoon and gave it try. Food was fast and great taste. Service was friendly. We had Cheeseburger, Cajun Wings, Cheese Nuggets, and Chicken Tenders with fries. All was very good.

It is located in the main part of the Marina. I does not have any signs, but we saw the tables inside. Lakeview is to the sides towards the slips.

Prices are higher, but they are on the lake so to be expected. There is no kids' menu, but our kids split an adult meal.

We left before we ordered anything after waiting 10 minutes. We might have tried longer, but the interior smelled really bad inside, and outside seating was all closed off.
