First Cup This morning I had my first cup of this day at the Ground Floor Café on the beautiful campus of John Brown University. El Socorro Honey Maracaturra from Guatemala. A delicate, sweetly tart with juicy, high-toned acidity..., a lively cup indeed. Here is the description from Olympia Coffee. “Honey Processing leaves a bit of coffee cherry intact after pulping, skipping fermentation altogether and allowing the coffee cherry's natural sugars to marinate into the bean while sun drying. The result is a lush, fruiter version of what is already one of Guatemala’s greatest coffees.” Olympia Coffee. To be crystal clear, it is my earnest opinion that there is not a better place in our immediate territory for a finer cup of coffee than the Ground Floor. The staff are simply the best. Their commitment to consistency, the highest quality of process, without compromise is outstanding. I can lead a horse to the trough, I cannot force the horse to drink. Let me give my highest recommendation for you to enjoy a cup of coffee at the Ground Floor. If you are in doubt…, that’s ok, let me buy you a first cup. (limited buys)
