Smith and Betts Barbecue is a great little joint in a fabulous town, a locally owned establishment that feels like a barbeque truck that upgraded to a proper store. The food is pretty good, not very expensive, and a lot of food for the price.
The brisket is super moist and tender, and the pulled pork is on point, moist and more seasoned with more flavor. The burnt ends are a nice surprise, served sauced with a great combination of crispy chewy and incredible flavor. The ribs were good but had no real smokiness, seeming oven roasted instead of smoked. The housemade baked beans have the right consistency, and the housemade hashbrown casserole is a nice treat. The potato salad is awesome, and the loaded waffle fries are loved. The spicy sauce paired well with the brisket, but the regular was more flavorful.
Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 AM, with the rise and shine stack being a buttery biscuit topped with sausage, hash browns, egg, and tons of sausage gravy, and a breakfast burrito with very smoky brisket. Everything is delicious, and customers get their money's worth.
