We enjoy the winery. The restaurant food in our opinion is very lacking but the ambience is cute, quaint.

Went for a wine tasting. Girl working there seemed bothered to have to put down her book. She kept pronouncing Pinot as Pinto. Such an old and prestigious winery should take more care to have their people know a little bit about wine. We did buy a bottle though. The wine was great!
This was our first time to dine here but definitely won't be the last. The food was superb and our server , Jordan , has been there 10 years , he was patient and knowledgeable and he spaced our appetizers , salads and meal perfectly so our table was never over crowded. We highly recommend and believe me , we are food snobs ... lol
Went to the wine tasting then the restaurant food was great π and atmosphere fantastic I'll definitely be back.
What a fun find in rural AR! We were stopped with our RV for a couple of days on our way through the state. The Wine Capital RV Park had the Weiderkehr Winery flyers and history out for their guests and we decided to go for lunch. Great staff and service and the food was really good. I had no idea that Arkansas has wine, and was expecting the local selection to be mostly sweet wines (like NC). We were pleasantly surprised by the selections and I had a very nice Shiraz. We took more food to go and visited their wine shop to take a couple of bottles too. The entire enclave is built in German/Swiss chalet-style inside and out. On our way out of the property, we went to see St. Mary's Catholic Church, built by the family in late 19th/early 20th century. The church was open and we were able to walk in and enjoy the beautiful worship area, including the stained-glass windows and other art. The grounds overlook the valley below. We even saw a roadrunner on the lawn! Would highly recommend a visit to Weiderkehr if you are in AR or passing through!

The best steak & pasta & authentic Swiss cuisine, Iβve ever had. Consistently over the past 20 years my family has stopped in for lunch or dinner when passing Altus, AR. We love the small restaurant atmosphere, and wait staffβ¦ if you are lucky enough to get to stop here I recommend the Sausages, Back Hennel Vienna, or any pastasβ¦ the Swiss onion soup is a wonderful treat. Our waitress has been working there for 47 years - she is the best! Stop off and try this for yourself if passing through and you will become addicted. Recently we stopped off on our way to Little Rock and again on our way back home the next week! Itβs a great establishment & our favorite place!
