This cafe is a nostalgic icon of Alpine and the area. A great small town cafe, no frills here! Just a warm welcoming, friendly atmosphere! The food is ordinary, but filling! I recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!
Cute, good food, great service. Ordered our sourdough burgers medium-rare and they were perfect! Generous portions with the sides. Excellent onion rings. Bar seating, booth and table seating. Clean bathrooms. Dirt parking lot to the side and street parking. Decor is ranch style with old signs from the forest. Will eat here again!
We went for lunch and all of us really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Bear Wallow. The onion rings and the green chilli on the fries were the bomb! Then the strawberry rhubarb pie was the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed listening to the bluegrass band playing outside.
Will be back to try more things with that green chili and of course, need to try their breakfast.
I'd recommend stopping by to at least get some pie!!!!
