Have never had any issues with this place in the past. But we were driving back from Cottonwood yesterday and looking forward to our pie shakes, we follow the instructions plastered all over the building - to buy our slice of pie at the pie shack. We even tell the person at the Pie Shack that we are going to have them made as shakes. Then we get to the Cafe and to the shake counter, pie slices in hand. Only to be turned down by the grumpiest server I think I’ve ever met. Just felt like she couldn’t be bothered to make a shake. Telling us that we could only have a shake with pie from vastly understocked refrigerator right there. I think the staff here really needs some customer service training, plus all get on the same page! Missed out on 5 sales for shakes, and we just had to eat the pie.
Great pie, especially the pecan. It’s a down go earth homey feel with great country kitchen style cooking.
Lady inside said we were parked on the "yellow paint" that was freshly laid when we weren't and started cussing at my grandfather and grandmother we they said they were not and they would move the car saying "you are right on the gold-ass paint" and was being very rude to seniors and didn't even ask us to move she just asked if that was us there in a rude tone
This place sucks and should be closed down they price gouge and have rude staff
Really good pies, food, and the Haunted History!!
If you want good fried fish try their lightly breaded cod; it was delicious. It was enough for us old folks to share.
Very kind and welcoming environment, with the lovely cats Oreo and Buddy there to bring extra smiles. Very fun place to stop by on your road trip for snacks and furry friends!
Decided to try the "famous" pie barn. Purchased apple crumb, strawberry rhubarb crumb, jd pecan and banana cream. No decernable fruit in the apple nor strawberry rhubarb, just mush covered with a gagging amount of sugar,. Pecan was nothing but jelled brown sugar. The only redeeming item was the banana..flaky crust, real banana pieces and what tasted like a combination of fresh whipped cream mixed with pudding . Prices for pies and restaurant menu items are ridiculous (apparently others thought that about the restaurant also as it was all but empty). Atmosphere is pleasant. Staff is friendly and courteous. Appears clean. Will not return although close to home
Best pies in Arizona!!! Recommend the cherry or rhubarb!
This used to be a favorite place to stop but the food and service today were way below par. The pot pie was burned, the salad only had lettuce and cherry tomatoes. We will not be coming back.

We went to The Pie Box which is on the same property as Rock Springs Cafe . We stopped here on the way back from an epic hiking adventure. Perfectly delish- highly recommend!
We must have had bad timing. The food was okay, mostly warm. Pleasant server! The pie are our attraction over the years.
It has been a few years since eating at this cafe. But, we do stop to pick up on of their great pies. They have been selling their pies for decades. They now have a special building just for the pies and other caned type goods. Not cheap but the very best,
Traveling up the I-17 toward Sedona, you will pass a little enclave on the southern edge of Black Canyon City called Rock Springs, the home of the Rock Springs Café. I had been encouraged by numerous friends to visit this little eatery, especially for their pie. Finally, on our way back from The Grand Canyon recently, my wife and I stopped. Warning: this charming little eatery (and gift shop) will quickly win you over with it's friendly staff and it's wonderful food! During our visit, my wife had a cooked to order burger and onion rings, while I had a cooked to order patty melt (on honest-to-goodness caraway rye) and fries. Both were terrific! Oh yeah. The pie... was Wonderful! I had coconut cream and my wife had warmed mixed berry with ice cream. My coconut cream made me want to sample the entire pie inventory, which includes (among others) two kinds of lemon, key lime, pecan, and two kinds of rhubarb! Bear in mind that we visited on a Monday, and still had about a 15 minute wait to be seated. On the weekends, especially for breakfast, I can see this eatery filling up fast (it has a second wing, which I'll bet fills up on Sundays). This place is no secret to the locals... get there early if you can!! Just want a slice of pie and coffee? Try the "pie box" located next door. And if you're vacationing, be sure to browse the gift shop, including the Christmas area on the second floor. Very charming! With as many times as my wife and I visit northern Arizona each year, it's going to become hard to steer the car away from stopping each time we pass by! That might just happen to you, too!
Cute little restaurant with a great pie selection. We stopped in here on our way from Surprise,Az to Sedona. We heard it was a great place to pick up a pie and we tried a slice of the peach crumb and Lemon custard. They were very good. We also visited the little shoppe to the right that had Native American art and also saw the white bat. This was a good start to our vacation.
