Well about a year ago my wife and I had an incredible Keelers dinner, and I YELPED immediately with 5 stars of joy. In fact, since then we've returned multiple times and always been very pleased. I like giving restaurants positive reviews considering the hard labor for all staff from maître d, server, waiter, bar, sous-chef, and chef.
But last Saturday night was a disaster. Firstly, Carefree was hosting the Thunderbird Art show and Keelers was jammed when we got there with our 7:45pm reservations.
The bad experience started with the server, who - you know the pushy type - didn't seem to like our not ordering alcohol. Interesting that he was a late middle aged man, serving at a restaurant on a Saturday night.
I asked him if I could substitute a small salad for the green beans and smashed potatoes - which I'd done several times before without incident. He refused saying, "we don't do that unless you order a steak . . . but I can bring you a salad if you still want one." I said no, but my wife asked for a moment to see if anything caught her eye, and she asked the server to start my order anyway. He abruptly left saying, "I'll put both in at the same time." He disappeared as I steamed.
After what seemed like forever, he returned and took our orders - 2 steelhead trout. My wife asked if the green beans could be cooked a bit more, as they often had a tendency to be tough. He responded, "We make them al dente." So I'd had it by then and responded, "We just don't want to dent our teeth." He then agreed to ask the kitchen staff to check the green beans.
WHEW! What a hassle. I mean I know inflation has hit terribly in the last 6-8 months, but when you're ordering $100 meals for 2, after tax and tip without alcohol, you want to be treated agreeably.
I asked for same waiter for lemon slices for our fish. At this point we were worried about how our orders would actually be. A young congenial guy returned shortly with the lemon.
When the trout was brought to us, we started to eat it and both thought it undercooked with an underlying fishy flavor. (You know how there's always a disclaimer on the menus warning patrons about undercooked seafood/shell fish!) So we got the waiter's attention and asked for the steelhead to be cooked more. He took it to the kitchen. Ten minutes later another congenial guy (Ryan) returned with the trout and followed that with additional almondine sauce.
So the one star is well deserved, but sad given our wonderful meals in the last year. Moral of story is don't go to Keelers late on a Saturday night, and hope you get a better waiter than our guy.
Poor service. Had to send both our dishes back for being cold. We were told that would be remade, got them back 2 minutes later, waiter said they were brought up to temp. They microwaved them.
Terrible food. Never going back.

Steak was delicious and would go back to have the stuffed bake potato with filet. But the 2 prime rib dinners were just so so. Mac cheese side would have been better if they used kraft out of a box ...The green beans side was also just so so. Definitely nothing special. We couldn't believe how blah the two sides we picked were. But like I said we would go back and have the stuffed bake potato.

I was really disappointed with the service during my visit. We sat on the upstairs patio and unfortunately only saw our server three times in an hour. She wasn't very friendly, and it seemed like she was more focused on her phone and cashing out her tips than attending to customers. This was a frustrating experience, especially since the atmosphere was great. On top of that, the food quality has definitely gone downhill. It was much better during my past visits. I hope the management takes this into consideration and improves both the service and food quality moving forward. will never eat here again!! :(

Ww have eaten there a couple of times and it was always pretty good. This time it was a utterly disappointment. I had the seaman's on a bed of mashed potatoes and some green beans. The fish was good but the mashed potatoes were awful, pasty and flavorless and the green beans were undercooked. For the price I would expect a decent meal! As i did not want any other sides the waiter comped a piece of cheesecake. My wife's dish was good. I should have ordered a pasta dish. All in all a sad experience.

Don't waste your money. Filet and potatoe were cold. Got a new one and was a fatty terrible cut of meat and over cooked. Such a dissapointment. Caesar salad was bland, yellow lettuce and no ncheese. Had a Caesar salad at Oregano's the night before that was amazing. They should try it and copy. So dissapointed that this is what we chose to celebrate a special birthday night. I ate my dinner alone as my husbands dinner came way later so we took it To Go. Never will eat here again.

Place was empty, but made us sit outside we were 1st table and arrived at open. Ordered burger sliders, but received steak sliders that were undercooked - specified medium, but was red. Wanted to order ribeye steak in the first place, but no ribeye on the menu so ordered burger sliders. Truffle fries were not, they were just regular frozen fries. Another order at our table was steak, but only butter knife was supplied and no A1. Lemonade was terrible, super bitter and not sweet at all. And we waited for 45 mins to receive this delight even though as stated in the beginning we were first table to be seated (outside) and order.

The food quality has gone down over the last two years since we have been there. Not much flavor and the drinks were bad. Not a fan.

Great place for a cocktail or a bite. However do not order the scallops no tast and not fresh wish I could show them how to scallops. But friendly service and the muscles are tasty. Stakes are good. And if you sit at the bar you can easily strick up a conversation with fellow patrons.

I love their steak salad and was shocked when it came. While it was delicious, it was half the size of the last time I ordered it. Our waitress's behavior was off. My daughter thinks she was high. One of the waiters approached us after we left and suggested we ask for him next time.

First time to this restaurant and we thought it was just.... okay. I have had better food and service at Outback Steakhouse. My kids order a burger on the adult menu medium and they came extremely well. I ordered the braised short ribs which were good tho. My husband ordered the sea bass and the flavor and seasoning was just odd. Sitting at the table waiting for a meal no one brought any bread so I asked the server if they usually serve bread and she said it was a secret and you just had to ask for it. She forgot to bring the bread so about 10 minutes later I asked one of the bus boys and he brought something that looked like warmed up brown and serve rolls. We also ordered a side of truffle fries and between the presentation and taste, you would have thought you ordered them from a fast food restaurant. My son ordered a side of butter noodles and they came half hard which seems like they were old and just microwaved. Our server asked us if we wanted a complimentary slice of birthday cake and we said yes. By that time my kids were ready to leave but we were waiting for the birthday cake. The server came by about 10 minutes later and asked what we had decided, if we wanted the birthday cake. All of us had a very confused look on our face because we had already told her we did. The cake came and it tasted Old and stale. We are glad we finally tried Keeler's however, unfortunately. I don't think we'll ever be back.
