I have been in 3 or 4 times in the past couple of months and it is some of the best cheese steaks you can get in the valley. Eddie does a fantastic job and we are so happy to have him in our little corner of the world .
Word of mouth is indeed the best marketing machine, and I found Eddie as a recommendation. I’m from the East. I’ve had the legendary Pat’s and Geno’s. I think I reviewed them. But lemme tell you, Eddie had them beat! My understanding when I met him is that he has been making cheesesteaks for over 20 years and is from Brooklyn New York. He gets his bread, sodas, and desserts straight from the East. He uses name brand bread that nobody has even heard of out here. My man has a technique of making these steaks….I have never tasted something so special! I ordered a Philly with whiz and a side of fries. My dinner guest ordered a pepper jack Philly, and when she tried my fries, went and ordered some for herself. There’s this bar in the Philadelphia airport that uses a similar seasoning on these fries, but they make them so salty in order to get you to purchase more beer. Eddie made a copycat of it and it’s even better than the original! My cheesesteak was unlike any I had ever tasted somehow with the paper, thin steak the way he cooked it. It tasted like I was eating a sirloin sandwich. Salt, pepper, and onions are all he put inside and he gave me some cherry peppers, he makes a light marinara that will “make your toes curl”. This was the phrase used to me when getting the recommendation to go to Eddie’s. She said Eddie’s steak will make my toes curl, and indeed it did! My companion devoured her 8 inch, and when I was almost done with my 12 inch I felt a tear forming in my eyes because I did not want the sandwich to ever end. I looked around at the decor and I thought I was in Philadelphia. He has the Pennsylvania Birch beer, Cel-Ray soda, eagles memorabilia… I am meeting Eddie and hearing his story made me a believer in this restaurant. Eddie genuinely loves hearing how delicious his food is. He will talk to you and make you feel at home, he knows he has the best cheesesteak in the country! If you have never had a cheesesteak from here, you are remiss! Wherever you are drop what you are doing and head to Eddie’s Philly cheesesteaks for a sandwich like no other! Stopped at Eddie’s Philly Cheesesteak today, and let me tell you… I am such a sucker for a good cheesesteak. They’re so hard to find, and usually I have to load them up with sauces just to get them to taste the way I like.
We sat down, and I even asked my husband to go grab some sauces before the food came out. But when they brought our plates, I decided to take a bite before adding anything.
And WOW. Absolutely to die for. The flavor was unreal. The cheese-to-bread ratio was perfection. And it wasn’t soggy at all — not even at the last bite. Truly perfect from start to finish.
I cannot rave enough about how amazing this cheesesteak was. Family-owned, delicious, and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had.
