It is the most amazing bakery I have been to in Az. It reminds me of travels to other special countries that have amazing different pastels. What an amazing find.

This is probably the best place to start your day in our solar system. Exquisite food, great coffee, and great service. 100 stars!

Ambers bakery is delightful. 5 star customer service. 10 star pastries. The epitome of perfection. Classic French pastry with music to match. Ten to none, There’s nothing like this anywhere in the Verde Valley. Old school customer service and in the heart of Clarkdale Arizona. We are blessed to have her business in our neighborhood. Love Violettes! Thank you!

Violette's French Bakery and Café in the caboose in downtown Clarkdale is a rare gem in this small, historic town. The authentic French pastries, croissants and desserts are such a treat to find "right here in river city" -- not really what one would expect in a small town in Central AZ. The décor and atmosphere are charming with French café music tinkling from the sound system. The attention to the tiniest details is evident throughout your experience at Violette's.After a brief closure to implement some changes, Violette's has reopened with their new business concept featuring more sandwiches ready to grab and go and an expanded offering of Amber's amazing all scratch-made French pastries. The addition of quiche available each day is great to see -- and the quiche is AMAZING. Quiche Lorraine each day with at least one other type of quiche. With opening hours on Wednesday through Saturday, the new offering allows time for preparing all that yummy French goodness while permitting some time for work-life balance. The service remains top-notch, friendly, thoughtful and caring, just the type of thing one would expect in the small-town atmosphere of Clarkdale. And what small-town eatery would be complete without the morning coffee klatch -- Violette's has her table of wise older veterans who gather regularly to shoot the breeze, support each other and "solve all the problems of the world."If you're looking for a common experience and fast food, there are other establishments in the Verde Valley you can visit -- you can even have food shoved at you through your car window. If you're seeking a truly unique experience with amazing scratch-made food and personalized service that makes you feel sincerely welcome, you can't go wrong at the caboose in downtown historic Clarkdale.

The recent "improvements" have only made the service slower, the "menu" has been cut to exclude some incredible items that made the trip worth taking and the line worth standing in. We've been semi-regular customers for over 4 years, and used to enjoy the music while waiting & eating - no music today - and after 40 minutes in line, we took our items to go. Got back to camp in Cornville only to find that one of the items ordered - a Belgian ganache brownie, big enough to share which was the plan - was substituted with some kind of pastry consisting of very little chocolate and not even half the size, so not big enough to share. We could have driven back, then stood in line again - but my luck they would be out of the brownies by the time we got there. The food is good, but not worth the hassle. Sadly, I think this was our last visit. Its ok though, they still have that group of obnoxious, loud old farts that sit at "bullshit corner" when they aren't meandering around harrassing other customers. Very disappointed.

Should have checked before we left, but silly me I trusted that the order would be perfect, as usual. We could have driven back, then stood in line again - but my luck they would be out of the brownies by the time we got there. The food is good, but not as wonderful as it once was, and not worth the hassle or the price. Sadly, I think this was our last visit. It's ok though, they still have that group of obnoxious, loud old farts that recently took up residence at "bull$***corner" (there is even a sign that announces the table where they camp out) when they aren't meandering around harrassing other customers. Very disappointed.

My wife and I have come here for many years when we are in the area, and feel the quality of Amber's creations is legendary! She is SO talented that the relatively high price is accepted, and we absolutely always schedule a trip here for sandwiches and pastries every time we come up here! HOWEVER, the Cafe was closed and re-designed in July and today was one of the absolute worst experiences in service I've ever had, anywhere. 40 minutes standing in line is crazy, and no menu to help speed things up (the entire menu has been changed from what it had been all ethese years, and all they now sell other than beverages is what is contained in the food display case). Even after waiting all that time to arrive at the food display and wanting to choose quickly so we could finally rest our backs.. . waited at least 3 minutes while the staff ignored us. Took food to our RV to eat, so we could finally relax, and found we received a pastry we hadn't ordered, rather than the one ordered. As much as we love Amber and Violettes, this is likely our LAST visit. Experience totally ruined our previously favorite Cafe!!! Sad.........

We visited on a friend’s recommendation after a sunrise hot air balloon ride, and we were not disappointed! The place is quaintly located in a caboose. The food was excellent and worth the wait!

At 9 a.m., they were out of or never had croissants. The majority of their menu centers around croissants. I asked if they had a substitute bread, and the gal snapped."We are out of croissants". I asked if we could sit outside and eat and she again snapped "There's nothing stopping you". We left.

Had the L'imposteur sandwich with a Blue Matcha latte. So delicious as always & very sweet wait staff! I highly recommend Violette's for breakfast, lunch & dessert! Excited for the Grinch (passionfruit) macaroons for dessert tonight ?
