Our favorite restaurant when we're in town. The food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness are always top notch. The margaritas are hand-made versus from a bottle like a nearby competitor. Highly recommend!

I was there between lunch and dinner, so it was just me. I had this amazing pollo chipotle dish. It was delicious. If you like the flavor of chipotle you will dig this!

The atmosphere is there is beautiful. Colorful, hand painted chairs and tabletops are eatery eye-candy. But the food is even better! Plus fantastic margaritas! Top it off with wonderful service…Tessa, the hostess, bartender, and server, is amazing. Ask her to make you a flash-blended margarita. Not frozen. Really, it’s the ideal Mex place.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere! Service was quick (to go), huge portions, my burrito and tostada were delicious. Excellent lunch and dinner combos. Happy hour 3-5 pm. 👍

1) A piece of hair was found in one of the dishes we ordered.

2) I did not like the fish tacos at all, the fish was bland and not seasoned well, and the rest of the toppings/condiments did not make the tacos much better. Additionally, the way my order was packed to-go (we ordered takeout) essentially destroyed the tacos and made them very difficult to eat, as all the tortillas got mashed together and were difficult to pick up.

3) They accidentally packed someone else’s half-eaten quesadilla leftovers into our to-go order. While I normally would be fine with free food, this seemed pretty unsanitary…

4) For a relatively empty restaurant, the service was slow. My friend went to Wal-Mart and back while we waited ~25 minutes for our food.

5) They charge $4 extra for additional chips and salsa. Not really a negative since it didn’t affect us, but just something that surprised me since I’ve never really seen that policy in Texas.

We checked this place out while in town. Had an order mishap but it was resolved quickly. Food is okay. Drinks are good. Service is good.

One of the reasons why we decided to go to this restaurant was, upon reading reviews, the owner/manager sometimes pushed back when customers complained about piddly things like they didn't get free refills on chips and salsa. Loved his passion to defend/support his business! We had a good experience; attentive wait staff, quick food presentation. Unfortunately, when my meal arrived, the plate was hot, the food not so much. Staff immediately offered to replace my meal - which wasn't necessary - I just wanted it taken back and nuked a bit, which was quickly done.

We noticed that most of the customers around us were speaking Spanish - which confirmed for us that this was an authentic Mexican restaurant, not a tourist trip.

Unfortunately, we are just travelling through - otherwise we would definitely return.

My Aunt & Uncle wanted authentic Mexican food, so I took them to TheAgave Mexican Restaurant. We all enjoyed the lunch & they loved the beef enchiladas & I enjoyed my tostadas with rice. Thank you, Agave Mexican Restaurant. We'll be back.
