This mead is mellow but nicely flavored. I love it. My favorites in the past were passion fruit and peach. They have rotating options, so you'll likely find something new.”

“As locals we have experienced most of the restaurants in our area. We had our first date night dinner at Atria a few weeks after they opened. We have followed Chef Rochelle for years and we were extremely excited to see her opening here in Flagstaff. We have been back almost other weekend since. We always sit at the Chef's Table so we can observe the masterpieces being created. Atria is the best dining experience within 100 miles. If you haven't tried it, you are missing one of the finest dining experiences you will ever have.”

Josephine's Restaurant 503 N Humphreys St, Flagstaff New American • $$$
503 N Humphreys St, Flagstaff

“I wish I had a sky full of stars to give for Josephine's review. They are surely deserving. 5 stars to represent the 5 senses will have to do. Visually it is absolutely beautiful. A lovely, rustic old home converted to a cozy intimate restaurant. The wafting smells of the food being prepared drew us as we wandered in. The warm, friendly greeting and attentive staff made us feel at home. The gentle bustle and buzz of the restaurant offset by a phenomenal soundtrack of eclectic music. My wife and I commented song after song about how special the ambiance was. Now to the food, although simply referring it as food is an extreme injustice. The meal was literally a work of art. Not the bougie, overly small (see what I did there?), portions with a drizzle of color to distract you from the fact that you about to "feast" on two bites of food. The portions were just the right size, completely satisfying without being grossly over or under sized. The ingredients were all extremely fresh and top quality. This makes total sense... with chefs creating such wonderful fare, why would you not use the best? Simply put, every single thing about Josephine's is absolutely perfect in my opinion. We wanted a special night for my wife's birthday and Josephine's delivered in spades. It could not have been any more perfect. Thank you SO much! If you are EVER in Flagstaff, you HAVE to make sure and try (try isn't accurate... let's say experience) Josephine's. Life is too short NOT to experience Josephine's!”

“We were staying in Flagstaff for two nights to hike the Grand Canyon and stumbled upon Shift on the first night. It was later in the evening and we didn't have a reservation. We got in and sat at the community table. We had no expectations of anything since we just stumbled in and we were just happy to grab a seat. First course came out, savory sorbet. Blown away. It was sooo good. We had about four other items, all delicious. The next night, after our hike, we went back. Only reservation was at 8:30, worth the wait. Everything is delicious. The cocktails are creative. The staff is kind, intelligent, and incredibly hospitable. Love this place and would make this a once-a-week spot if I lived in Flagstaff. Wish I could remember the names of all of the other dishes we ate!! Go here.”

Takeout Restaurants

Silver Pine Restaurant and Bar 2515 E Butler Ave, Flagstaff American • $$
2515 E Butler Ave, Flagstaff

“My recent dining experience at The Silver Pine Restaurant and Bar was a delightful journey with a few bumps along the way. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what promised to be a memorable meal. To start, the Bruschetta Board was nothing short of phenomenal. The combination of fresh ingredients and perfectly toasted bread created a flavor explosion that set a high standard for the rest of the evening. The soup of the day was a comforting delight, showcasing the chef's ability to balance flavors and textures. The prime rib took center stage and rightfully so. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, succulent, and left me craving for more. The chef's expertise in preparing the prime rib was evident, and it became the highlight of the evening. However, the dessert course took an unexpected turn. The chocolate cake, though promising, turned out to be disappointingly dry. It lacked the moisture and richness one would expect from a decadent chocolate cake. The bread pudding had a peculiar flaw – the eggs were scrambled, rendering the dessert unappetizing. Regrettably, both desserts were taken to-go, and we didn't have the opportunity to send them back, but were thrown out, uneaten. Despite the dessert hiccup, the attentive and friendly staff show the Silver Pine's commitment to customer satisfaction. It's worth noting that the rest of the dining experience was so impressive that the dessert misstep did not overshadow the overall enjoyment of the meal. The Silver Pine offers a commendable dining experience with an impressive menu. The Bruschetta Board, soup of the day, and prime rib are undoubtedly must-try items. While the desserts may need a bit of fine-tuning, the attentive service and overall quality of the meal make this restaurant a worthwhile destination for food enthusiasts.”

When you enter you will be greeted by an employee, the place is not very crowded so you should get a table soon. You will then receive water and will be asked for your order, the employees waste no time getting your order and are very kind. The atmosphere is more causal and calming. I would recommend toasted owl to anyone looking to go out to eat for breakfast in flagstaff, or dare I say…nearby areas.”

“So glad we found this place! We're super picky with our wings, so we thought we'd give theirs a shot. We ordered their wings that were smothered in a sweet & spicy BBQ sauce. They were so juicy & delicious! We finished every last one.We also had the Greek, French Dip & Pepper Steak pastries, and they were all very good. Our favorite, hands down was the French Dip though. The Greek could've had better ratio of ingredients if their olives were chopped up, instead of whole, as a whole olive in one bite was a bit too salty. Other than that, it was great! The Pepper Steak is perfect for blue cheese lovers, which we are. It's got a generous amount of blue cheese, cream and chopped steak.Last, but not least, the French Dip was the perfect balance of flavors with thin tender slices of meat, cheese, soure cream and onions. The horseradish sauce and aus jus provided really put it over the top! I'm talking match made in heaven! I wish we would've ordered extra for the road. Our server Riley was super amazing, friendly, attentive and helpful with menu choices. We highly recommend this experience. Can't wait to try more of their delicious dishes!”

“tl;dr - I recommend Basecamp at Snowbowl as a no frills, just-right option for folks that want a comfy room with great food (dinner only) and close proximity to Snowbowl. Great location, great staff, great food, good price. Bring a cooler and earplugs and find breakfast elsewhere.I stayed Basecamp late-February 2024 for two nights - a Monday and TuesdayPros:The room was clean and super comfy. You are amazingly close to the mountain - 16 minutes to the lifts. The check-in process, and the process to get your lift passes was very smooth and the staff was super helpful (thanks, Cameron for all the information about the mountain and helping get me squared away on the promo codes!).The Restaurant is fantastic - 5 ⭐s. The Arizona Cheesesteak and Cowboy Burger were both great after a day on the hill. It was a super chill environment to round out the day (thanks, Shea for the hospitality and the information about the upper bowl!).The room cost + lift ticket is a great deal. Prices surge on the mountain and to have package that allows to get a "free" pass is great. Apply your promo code to your card (See Cameron above☝️) when you purchase it and you are good to go.Cons:There is no fridge in the room. Plan ahead and bring a cooler with you for keeping any food/drinks cold. (Side note: Basecamp, please offer a breakfast food/coffee option for folks going up the hill. That would be amazing!)The walls are thin. You share a wall with the cabin next to you. Sometimes that means you need to listen to the dude next to you snore and depending on which room you get you might be along a road. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. The gas fireplace in the room was pretty loud. When it kicked on/off it would clank and wake me up. Again, if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.A ways away from Flagstaff city center if that's your thing. Between the restaurant and the Maverick station 5 minutes up the road, I had everything I needed.Rooms: Clean room and a super comfy bed.Thin walls so you can hear your neighbor. No fridge.Nearby activities: Super close to Snowbowl. 15-20 minutes from your room to the lifts is awesome.Food & drinks: Restaurant and the staff are great.”
