A nice dive bar with a wholesome attitude in the middle of nowhere. Drinks were affordable, and surprisingly given the atmosphere, It's very welcoming to kids as well. Pretty decent size menu with good food presentation.

The Mr. and I shared the pretzels and the Arizona Turkey Melt Grant style (get a side of ranch to go with the sandwich) and both were amazingly good! We also had a wonderful time talking to Steve and Theresa. What a fun couple! Thanks to the staff for the wonderful service and thanks to Steve and Theresa for the conversation and food suggestions.

A very nice tavern with appropriate food. The waitress was friendly as were the patrons who were local. It is dog friendly, the sort of neighborhood tavern you would not hesitate to take your family. The food was simple gut really good. The burger was huge, cooked perfecty, with fresh lettuce and tomato, the fries crunchy and just the right amount It feels strange to write a rave review about a simple hamburger in a very local tavern, but I had a $130 dollar meal last night in a pretentous restaurant with scimpy and inedible food. Timberline tavern deserves a great review for serving a very simple meal, inexpensively (burger and a beer for $20), and doing a really great job in a friendly, locl atmosphere.

Very good, home-made burgers. Both the tavern burger and the vegetarian black bean burger were incredible. They were served with very tasty fries or a clearly homemade cole slow. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff, very friendly people at the bar.
We stopped in for lunch and the food was killer, and the service was awesome. Everyone is so nice, and the menu was huge. There's something for everyone, at reasonable prices. I especially recommend the smash burger and sweet potato fries. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We were just hoping for something quick, but what a pleasant surprise! We were late for lunch and directed to Timberline Tavern, but it was actually the same place. The service was fast and friendly. The Arizona Turkey Melt Grant style was amazing!! So was the Navajo Taco!! I would highly recommend this place and will definitely come again next time traveling to this area.

Meh. Stopped here after hiking as it got decent reviews. Stepped in and waited (like the sign said) to be seated. And waited. Finally, two women, after they paid, gestured us to their table as they left. Kind of set the tone for the rest of the visit. Only one person working the bar and the tables, and she was working hard. Obviously knew the regulars at the bar, but seemed pretty disinterested in those of us at the tables. One previous reviewer raved about the burgers and another noted the patty melt. The burger was studiously average, and cooked much more than requested. Tots were overcooked and greasy. The patty melt was meh. We decided it's not on our list as a place to return, unfortunately.
