Grand Canyon Brewing + Distillery

Great beer and good food! And Tasha was especially sweet and friendly to us :)

I have five reasons why this is four stars. 1. The service is ok. 2. The bathrooms are very nice. 3. The food is very good. 4. They have on-brand crayons. And 5. The atmosphere is good. Overall the restaurant is good.

Even though our server/bartender was scheduled all by herself on Memorial Day today, I just want to say she did a fantastic job.

Restaurants are like an army with several lines of defense. There’s the obvious, the food, but then the servers, too, are an aspect of success…or failure. Since we’re talking about a bunch of humans, things can happen. People can have a bad day - or just have issues. That’s life. But when the kitchen is off and the server is off and it’s clear that it’s a lousy management situation, that’s when I write a review like this.

We visited Grand Canyon Brewing and Distillery and got a great hostess. We got seated quickly and menus and such. Figured out our order, chose a beer and waited. And waited. And waited.

Finally our server, Joe, came around and took our beer order and, since we had been there a while, we also got our food order figured out. A sandwich, a big pretzel (It’s a brewery!) and some wings. I got their house IPA and it was outstanding. Someone knows what they’re doing back in the brewery department. Eventually I got a second IPA - it was good too. I was pondering getting some to take home with us, it was that good.

Meanwhile the table next to us had gotten their salads, sent them back, and had gotten replacement salads.

Halfway through the second beer we finally flagged Joe down and asked what was going on. He would check.

Turns out our food order got misplaced. It happens. That’s why a server with a digital menu system is on the floor to keep tabs on this kind of thing. But we just chose to leave - clearly the kitchen and the wait staff were not having a great day.

I fault lousy management when there are this many failures but I definitely wouldn’t go back. The beer was outstanding, the service not so much.

Joe did bring a pretzel which was very good and should be for $16 and we didn’t get charged for anything. Turns out the adjacent table’s salads had hair in them. Ew. They didn’t get charged either.

Where was the manager on duty? What the heck is going wrong here? It’s a beautiful place with great beers and we did really like the (free) pretzel but I’d rather have just had anything but a lousy experience. Oh well.

I’ve been to this location several times and absolutely love the food and atmosphere. However, last weekend my family and I came to the location. We were told to get our drinks. No big deal as we know this is normal practice. The issue, we waited over 20 minutes with no service. We were shown who are waitress was. She didn’t come around but had no issue with seating other patrons (we were seated by the podium where you meet patrons). Eventually we decided to leave, put money down for the drinks. I told our waitress that we were leaving because of the service. Absolutely no response from her. I’m not saying I won’t return but our experience was definitely a negative one.

stayed in Flagstaff, AZ for a week. We went here after visiting the Grand Canyon. Sunset Amber Ale is the best beer I've had in my life. All the beers we tried in our flights were amazing though, American Pilsner comes 2nd. They also have vegan patty & vegan cheese options for their burgers which we of course ordered! Please come to CT liquor stores. We really miss you 😭

Went to the Flagstaff location this weekend. My family was told to get our drinks which we had no problem with. The issue is we waited for over 20 minutes with no service. We were shown who our waitress was but she never came around. We decided to leave as we were on a time restraint. We paid for our drinks. I made it a point to let our waitress know we were leaving, as she was seating other customers. She didn’t acknowledge me or seem to care. I won’t say I will never visit again but this was definitely a turn off.

My burger was very pink and made me throw up

We discovered this brewery after looking to have lunch where we would be allowed with our two dogs Kimberly, our waitress, was fantastic made us feel welcome. The beers were delicious, the food was tasty. We will definitely be back.

Called in an order for 8 people, picked up the order and realized after getting back that there was no salad dressing for many salads. Called restaurant, spoke to manager who informed me that unfortunately there is nothing they can do. I had the option of driving back across town to retrieve the dressing. I informed them whose misfortune this will be moving forward. She acted like I was asking for a favor. I paid for this food. Pissed!

The food is good but expensive. The problem is they only had one waiter for the lunch hour and obviously it was slow service despite them doing a good job

Cold French fries. Food came and asked for silverware TWICE, waited 10 min before I gave up and went inside to find my own. Food too expensive to be filling my own drinks.

We arrived and waited by the sign that said “Wait to be seated”. The server was busy collecting money from a large group nearby. She never looked at us, never acknowledged us, and didn’t say”I’ll be right with you”. We stood there for at least five minutes. The server disappeared. We left. We’ll never go back there.

Can't rate the food, nobody would seat us. Horrible when I had my elderly mother with me.

Service from Christian at the bar was on point. LOVED seeing them smoke an old fashioned for another customer!
