We were taken here for dinner by a local who raved about it. It is a warm and inviting bar and restaurant with several small rooms and a fireplace. The menu which is classic American fare was quite extensive. The food was wonderfully prepared and plated. What stood out the most was the attentive and friendly service. Our wait person, Irene, was simply charming and so professional. It really put a positive spin on the whole dining experience.
Stopped here on a recent Route 66 AZ tour, and we loved this place. Set in a 1911 home, the setting is both comfortable and historic. The menu is awesome. We had Chiopino and Southwestern Crabcakes, and they were both outstanding. Friendly service added to the great experience.
We were in town just for one night. Friends of ours who knew we were stopping in Flagstaff told us they had recently had dinner here and recommended we try it out. Are we ever glad we did! An upscale restaurant housed in an old Victorian looking building is full of ambiance. Then you get a very professional group of servers who know the dishes and know how to make you feel at home, a great combination. My wife and I decided to split the crab cakes as an appetizer and then split the Oso Bucco for our main course. The two crab cakes had minimal breading and a side sauce that was so good I could have ordered a second helping just so I didn't have to share. As it was, the oso bucco was nearly as good and the two items nearly filled us up. Thankfully, we left room for dessert: zeppoles. How many places serve little Italian donuts? A wonderful way to end a delightful dinner.
My wife and I had an excellent dinner tonight and we were WELL taking care of...that do a very good job here at Josephine's.
I really appreciated the attentiveness of the wait-staff; everything from making sure the outside heater was perfectly set, to always having a full water glass...

Greeting carries crisp mountain charm and warmth
Guests are greeted with mountain-town friendliness
It’s easy to understand why Josephine’s is so highly rated. The menu offers a creative blend of flavors — we enjoyed the baklava baked Brie, butternut squash bisque, Mexican chicken cordon bleu, and sweet potato gnocchi. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of depth, with just a hint of spice to keep things interesting.

Most everything on the menu is great! The ossobuco and salmon dishes are our favorites.....plus the creme brûlée. :) The service is great and most servers have been there for years. Love seeing the familiar faces when we visit.

We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by Daniel. We had a lovely dinner with wines suggested by Daniel that nicely paired with our appetizer and entree.
Menu is plentiful with offerings and the libations are equally bountiful.
Staff is friendly, service is prompt and IMO you won’t be disappointed if you stop on by!

Chef Tony Cosentino has put together a Modern American Bistro, complete with a wine list that has been recognized by the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for the last six years, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Located at 503 North Humphreys Street, a few blocks from downtown Flagstaff, in the historic John Milton Clarke House, Josephine's is everything an 85-year-old traveler from Chicago could want after driving 863 miles in 12 hours from Oklahoma City on his way to Los Angeles. Open from 5 to 8:30 Monday through Thursday, 5 to 9 on Friday, 9 to 2 and 5 to 9 on Saturday and 9 to 2 on Sunday, this is a four-star restaurant with impeccable service and a menu that checks all the necessary boxes. I started with Caesar salad with baby artisan Romaine lettuce and organic arugula with Caesar dressing, shaved parmesan, lemon wheel, thyme over roasted tomato and toasted garbanzo beans and a bowl of French onion soup. For my entree, I chose a bacon-wrapped filet mignon topped with sauteed truffle scented Crimini mushrooms and red wine demi-glace and served with mashed smoked Gouda potatoes and sauteed vegetables. For dessert, I opted for a large slice of chocolate Bourbon pecan pie.
We found this place last year and wanted to try it again. The Ciopino and the Osso Buco were delicious. Good wine list as well. The small cool building is definitely a plus.
