This place has gone downhill BAD! I've been eating here for 40 years. I moved away from home, but every time I come back, I can't wait to get some yummy salsa & Mexican food. This time, however, I was sorely disappointed. I went for lunch and NO sour cream or guacamole. How does a Mexican restaurant not have sour cream or quac?? They were also out of chicken. After talking to friends, they told me that they will never go back. After today's experience, neither will I ?

Have come here a couple times. One time they were out of sour cream (there's a Target across the street you could run over and get some?); one time they were out of spinach; and one time tried to order margaritas but couldn't get b/c the bartender wasn't there?!? (and overheard from other customers that they were out of Corona).

Food is delicious, just the service is very poor. No refills, no checking up on our table to ask if everything is OK.

What happened to this place? For many years my husband and I came here with our kids. From the moment we sat down we weren't impressed, the chips and salsa left much to be desired. They didn't have Bloody Mary mix left, the topper was they didn't have Carne Asada left and the server said it was in the walk-in but they wouldn't cook it. It was 6PM on a Friday night (NAU Graduation night). How can you be out of staples and only have three customers in the ENTIRE restaurant. Let alone on a graduation night? We had a much better Mexican restaurant experience at another restaurant. Keep driving.

Amazing food! The house Margarita is the best one I've ever had! There are two different songs playing from different genres at all times, but other than that it was a great experience!

Very good food, very bad service from the waiters. I've came here atleast 4 times. I only comeback because the food is good and better than la fondas. But man I'm always waiting 5-10 minutes to order a drink and another 5-10 minutes for food. And the waiters rarely ever come give you refills, chips and salsa or even check on you. Great food. Bad service

It’s been years since I’ve had Kachina and first time at the new location. It was not the same. We went for lunch and first off, they were out of shredded beef. So most of the things on the menu did not seem appealing. The atmosphere had more of a bar feel than a restaurant. Once we ordered, service was slow. We practically had to wave someone down every time we needed something. The salsa was watery and the rice was hard. It’s just not as good as it used to be.

Lauren it's Janet ELston. I'm really disappointed in the service and the food. Three visits and I'm so sorry I can't patronize your business any longer. Pay attention to inventory. Pay attention to the lack of service & your employees gathering at the bar eating and drinking while ignoring the patrons. We waited 20 minutes for one water and one beer. Salsa was watered down. No Chili Rellanos during Hatch season. No Green Chili for burritos. No silverware ready at 5pm on a Friday. I've been a customer of Kachina(s) all 3 of them since the mid 1960's. It's time to pay attention to your restaurant. Sorry for the scathing review but.....

What Happened to Kachina Restaurant??!!We havd eaten there for years! Especially the old location. We decided to go for my sins birthday, he loves Mexican food. We first walk up and see the signs outside advertising Happy hour Margs $5 and Beer $3 and the specials. We are seated. We get one bowl of salsa and 1 basket of chips for 7 people. It wasn't even their signature salsa, with avacado it was watered down salsa, salty with jalapeno. The waitress came to take our drinks and when I ordered my Margarita, I was informed they were out of margaritas. Ok, so I let it go, she brings another chip and salsa and the salsa is different, its like they were running out of salsa and just mixed a huge can of tomato sauce in what they had left! It was flavorless salted tomato sauce, even the jslapeno taste was gone. Then we get to the ordering!! No, carne asada, no shredded beef, no, no, no the list must have had 12-15 items they were out of! Out if 7 people 2 got what they actually wanted, ground beef and chicken tacos! We should have left but we went ahead and ordered. But oh did we regret it! I even think my pork carnita might have been chicken, and everybody's chicken was so dry! We wanted to tell people walking in the door to leave now! Run! Don't do it!We also had issues with the fact that one bathroom was out of order and there was only one single bathroom left, available for the whole restaurant to use.We ate what we could and then I talked to the waitress and tried to tell her how unhappy we were and asked if I could speak to a manager. The waitress informed me they had posted up front what they were out of but that she would go get the manager. I went back up to the front where, they had now pulled in the specials and happy hour sign as well as now posted a small sheet of paper on the please wait to be seated sign with handwritten list of the 12-15 items they were out of, now visible. I said, I'm sorry but these signs were not pulled in and this list was not here, nor was it pointed out to us as it should have been before we were seated! Common courtesy would be to say something or point it out before we are seated. Or even better could have been mentioned to me on the phone an hour earlier when I called to make the reservation for my sons birthday, it was not! The waitress then said, the manager is just as confused right now too that we are out of everything. What does that mean? I thought. She is on the phone and cannot meet with you. I thpught, seriously! She can't even talk to me?She said I can take 10 percent off your bill. Oh wow, 10 percent. We left, paid the bill, wishing we had left earlier and bought my son a hamburger on the way home.So sad, we will not be eating at Kachina Kitchen again.

Realize they were short on staff at 5:15 pm, but ordering & then waiting 90+ minutes for our food to come out & it being gloppy & cold means we won’t be coming back.

BEWARE! My hubby and I had upset stomachs for days after visiting there. It used to be so delicious here, but now the food looks and tastes oldy-moldy, and bland. There's more: the salsa looked milky-pale, some menu items weren't available, the music made me want to run away, and the restrooms were yuck.Sad.
