This has been out go to in Flagstaff for years. But I’m not too happy about the menu changes. They took off a lot of our favorites especially the kaibab roll and pork belly fried rice. It’s also a pet peeve when they don’t give you an itemized bill and instead hand you a device with the total and stand over you watching you tip. Also they added gratuity and still ask for a tip on the device. It’s just not the same.
We had gone to
karma a few years ago and had no complaints but just never went back. This week we walked into the “bar side” and had a fabulous choice of sushi, sashimi and rolls to choose from. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The bartender; Harry was not only knowledgeable in his bar choices, but also suggested some great items off the food menu and made the complete experience much more enjoyable.
Delicious Sushi. Appreciate their lunch special Bento Box.
The food was amazing! The veggie spring rolls had tender veggies and a super crispy exterior, the sushi was fantastic, and the service was awesome. Decent kid options, too, for young ones who don't like sushi.
Amazing food, great atmosphere for kids and adults. A good drink selection. But it's all about the sushi, and you won't be disappointed.
Very good sushi, friendly service
The flavor. The texture. The beauty of presentation. The fun of watching the sushi sheds crafting the colorful roles. This place is amazing. Best sushi experience I’ve ever had.
The tofu fried rice was tasty.
very bad service. they charged me a whole ticket that I didnt even enjoyed or eat. i waited for my food more than 40 minutes and nothing. i asked the waiter for the check and she told me that i have to pay for the food and the drinks. i dont mind paying the drinks but the food? really? if i didnt eat the food why would i pay? so unprofessional and rude from the service. NEVER COMING BACK.
I was torn between sushi and Thai for dinner… man did I chose wrong. Ordered 3 rolls and waited over 40 mins for them to come out! The guy next to us was sat after us and was done eating before we even got our rolls. When they finally did come the volcano tasted like it sat for a while. Additionally, every roll had literally NO flavor. The sauces were sparse and had nothing to them. I ordered the “wasabi roulette” and never found any wasabi. Then to add injury to poor food, when the bill came I had a $50 bottle of sake on there. This wouldn’t be an issue necessarily but the menu said $18, and the way it was explained to me didn’t lead me to believe that was $18 per glass, and not the whole bottle.

My family and I have been to Karma Sushi on multiple occasions and always been very impressed and satisfied. They have recently introduced a new menu. The previous menu had quite a few gluten-free options and this new menu doesn't seem to have nearly as many. In fact, one of the items is marked gluten free but was tempura fried which is not gluten free. Our server said that he could have that made gluten free anyways but when the roll came out it was still deep fried in tempura. That was order mistake #1 for our evening. We put in our order and our food started coming out. It did not come out all at one time which is to be expected with a place that has a sushi bar but my son and my husband were done eating before my daughter and I even got our sushi rolls. Mistake #2 for the evening happened when they brought us the completely wrong roll for my daughter and even though our server knew it was the wrong roll (even presented it as a spicy tuna roll when we ordered a tekka maki-thin role), he tried to play it off like it was the right one before I corrected him.
While our server was nice, he was not great as a server. He definitely struggled with getting our order correct, did not try terribly hard to make sure everything was made right, we were offered no compense for any of the mistakes and we had to ask three times for a to-go container. We finally asked the hostess because our server never got us one (we even watched him walk by the to to go containers several times). It took 15 minutes after asking for our check to actually get it.
We are a very low key group and tend to give lots of grace but in this situation I could not in good conscience, even leave our server a tip more than 17%.
Overall, the experience was underwhelming and frustrating. We may give Karma Sushi another try just because we previously have had good experiences but if this is any indication of what we can expect of their new space and menu, one shot is all we'll give.

Very good ramen and sushi. When they say spicy, they mean it.

We have been coming to Karma for the last four years, and always have nothing short of a great experience. We went last night for my partner’s birthday and were waited on by Christian, who was absolutely fantastic. Whether you’re a local or passing through town, Karma is a must stop.
