There is a certain level of expectation that comes when you are spending a solid amount of money on dinner at an upscale restaurant like Teatro. For the Ciabata and Butter appetizer, $5 for 4 small slices of what tasted like store bought bread was disappointing. The steak dish with the balsamic glaze was flavorless, under salted, and definitely disappointing. The lamb ragu dish was good, but the portion size in general was small.
Service was good, but compared to Tinderbox which is at a similar price point, the food left us wanting and disappointed.

Was really looking forward to dining at this place, but combination of slow service coupled with very hard chair made it less than enjoyable. Had ravioli, and it should have been called a dish of salt with a dash of ravioli. Very disappointed. Would have given one star, but others in our party had better luck with what they ordered.

This is usually one of our very favorite places to eat in Flagstaff a new restaurant that offers a lot. But tonight the food was a little bit off because someone in the kitchen was very heavy-handed with salt. You don't really need to Salt burrata salad with beets and there was so much salt on the pasta in the shrimp dish that it was not good to eat.

We went to dinner with a party of 4. The apps were kind of a letdown and lacking creativity. The ravioli and gnocchi were OVERLY salted. It was a salt fest. Dessert was not impressive either. The servers and atmosphere were good though.

I will begin with the fact that I love the owners other restaurant Tinder Box! We were a large party of 8 and were seated on the patio which was great! I ordered the $50 scallops and requested spaghetti instead of bucatini, which i felt should not be a big problem. Everyone received their food accept me. It took over 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge the oversight, she explained that the kitchen was working on it. Fifteen minutes later my dish was brought out with the wrong pasta, I informed the server and she flat out lied to me stating it was correct, that their spaghetti was just fatter than usual, mind you another individual at the table has ordered the same dish. Next, the server brought out a side of spaghetti, i mean exactly that.....a cold bowl of noodles with no sauce! Wow! Understandable, everyone had finished their meal by the time I received my dish and desert was being ordered. Desert came and while we were still eating we were informed that there is a 2 hour limit for seating and we needed to get going. I recognize that the servers are the lowest on the chain and probably do not have much autonomy, but at the very least, a manager should have come out and tried to make this right. This was a big party and we spent a good amount to have received such poor service. Very disappointed!!
My wife and I enjoyed lunch here yesterday afternoon. We selected the restaurant based on reviews and were not disappointed. The weather was perfect for dining on the patio and so we took advantage of the opportunity. The views are not spectacular (mostly buildings) but it is quaint and cute. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and it was quite tasty. For our entrees my wife ordered the sea bass and I had the lamb ragu. Both of our meals were delicious, but the portion size on the lamb ragu I found to be too small. Our waiter Ryland was very attentive, accommodating and personable. We totally enjoyed this new restaurant (for us) and will surely return. I can recommend without hesitation to others. I would like to rate 4.5 stars but not feasible and I just cannot get to 5 so I went 4. Enjoy folks it is a nice Italian option for Flagstaff.

Since Teatro opened a couple of years ago, it has become the go-to restaurant for special occasions for my wife and me. The wine selection is incredible, the service is always personable and elegant, and the whipped ricotta is the only thing my wife talks about. Every visit, I am reminded of our honeymoon in Chianti. We have dined at the other upscale restaurants in Flagstaff, and Teatro is always the gold standard that each other restaurant is compared to.
