The food was amazing and the bar tender that served us was exceptional. He worked with the chef even to ensure the substitute vegetable paired splendidly with the entree. The Old Fashion was amazing. The mussels appetizer was awesome. The experience was excellent. It started with the person taking reservations saving us two seats at the bar to avoid the long wait for a reservation seat.

Gave Tinderbox a try for dinner on 9/25/25. Pros: Filet Mignon was pricey but one of the tastiest and tender restaurant steaks I've ever had, and the small pork belly dish was close behind. Everything cooked to perfection! Cons: Constant breeze from the AC overly cold for the duration of our visit so we found ourselves a bit rushed to leave. Table rocked a bit when leaned on. Service was just ok, especially for being such a small place. Would visit again but would definitely avoid the same table.

Mostly good, but the online menu wasn't current. My husband wanted the elk tenderloin, but it wasn't on the menu. Instead he had to order the elk roulade, which was good but definitely not medium rare. And an entree of 3 scallops for $52?! The sea bass was excellent, the filet was good. We enjoyed the mussels and frog legs. The rose' we had was very good, but again, it wasn't the one on the menu. Ben took very good care of us. And the last disappointment was NO CHOCOLATE dessert.

We ordered the duck and halibut dishes. While the pomegranate reduction gave the duck breath and exceptional taste, the miso sauce decreased the appeal of the halibut.

Food was very good. We got the pork belly for an appetizer. I got the filet mignon, my wife got the elk tenderloin, all of it was excellent. Food was worth the cost, we look forward to going back again

Was staying in Flagstaff for a few days and I wanted to enjoy a fine dinning experience while I was in town and Tinderbox kitchen was on multiple lists of must eat restaurants for fine dinning or an intimate date night. The dinning area is small, so highly recommended to make reservations. We had a wonderful table up front and enjoyed some people watching while dinning. First thing I need to mention is the wine list! The selections fir a smaller establishment were phenomenal it was difficult to choose. The sommelier they had on location the night I was there was phenomenal! I would 100% trust any wine selection she would make for me. Wish I could remember her name to give a shout out but she did claim she was a level 1. Definitely knows her stuff!! On to the food! We had a charcuterie and some frog legs to get things started. The bread on the charcuterie board was amazing! A good selection of cheeses and a great spread with it all. The frog legs were interesting, Id only had them once before and do not remember enjoying them as much as I did these. My main dish was the duck breast with potatoes and Brussel sprouts the duck was cooked to perfection and the char grilled sprouts paired nicely with the Duck. My bottle of Pinot Noir was a great addition to every course. Cannot say enough about the selection of wine this restaurant has. Great atmosphere for a date night or a fine dinning experience in Flagstaff!
The food here was amazing— pretty penny but worth it! We ordered the 5 course meal, FYSA the price is per person and not split, we didn’t even think to ask about it but it was delicious, just a bit expensive! Service was wonderful and again; food was delicious.
