My husband and I were recommended to try this restaurant by a bartender at Rendezvous. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Barb was our waitress and she excellent. Very knowledgeable with the complete menu and cocktails. She was very attentive, friendly, and truly knew options on the menu. AJ was also very professional and made excellent drinks for us. Presentation matched the quality in every bite and sip. We will definitely return here during our next visit to Flagstaff. Thank you Barb, AJ and the talented chefs that prepared our delicious meal.

We celebrated a special romantic occasion here and it was perfect in every way. The food was outstanding, the duck and elk entrees were absolutely delicious! Our server was very attentive and made us feel like royalty. They even gave us a congratulatory card that the whole team signed! I can’t wait to visit again to try other food on the menu!

My husband and I were only in town for one night and we’re so glad we dined at Tinderbox! The service was top notch (Ben was our server) and the food was incredible. We had the radicchio salad, cheese board, duck breast and trout. I think the trout was the best I’ve ever had. Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely be back!

Pretty disappointed in our recent visit. My husband and I decided to dine here for our wedding anniversary and while I believe we put “celebrating anniversary” on our reservation, no one asked upon arrival if we were celebrating anything. Then to see tables around us with cards pertaining to their special event didn’t make me feel great. The server was attentive, the steak was good but when you’re paying $200+ to celebrate, you expect great service, food AND attention to detail.

Went for NYE 2025. Our server Josie was awesome. The food on the other hand… set menu but 3 options for each course. I realize this a foodie type spot but 3 of the courses were not edible in my opinion. Felt like the chef was trying too hard to make it unusual. They did help with the $$, but I will never eat there again.
We went for New Year’s Eve. The overall experience was great. There’s a few areas of feedback for the management. The guajillo shrimp was delicious, but difficult to eat because the glass dish was very small and there was not enough room to neatly remove the shrimp tails. Second, the special holiday menu was difficult to read in the dark room with small orange text on a blue background. Everything else was great. Thank you for the celebratory glass of champagne.

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at Tinderbox Kitchen.
We dined at Tinderbox Flagstaff last night, and the entire experience was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the service, atmosphere, and attention to detail made the evening memorable.
We both started with the radicchio salad, which was beautifully balanced and full of flavor. We shared the shrimp and grits as well—rich, comforting, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, I had the elk, cooked with remarkable precision, while my wife enjoyed the scallops, which were tender, fresh, and wonderfully complemented by their accompaniments.
My wife has a gluten allergy, and the staff accommodated her needs effortlessly. Their confidence and care made the meal even more enjoyable.
We ended the night with the cheesecake topped with all three of their menu options—a decadent and delicious finale. The dirty martinis were also expertly made and deserve their own praise.
Tinderbox continues to impress with its creativity, consistency, and warm hospitality. This is easily a top-tier dining experience, and we’ll be returning every time we visit Flagstaff.
