Update Feb 2026. Still a solid 5 stars. Thought we were arriving early for lunch this morning but we got caught between customers having a late breakfast and the early lunch crowd. There was a wait list. We were fifth on the list but it went quickly - took about 10 minutes. I had the open face beef with mashed potatoes and deep savory brown gravy and my wife had the chicken fried steak. Delicious. Large portions. Excellent value. More pics attached.
First time here. Lunch. Outstanding! Large wait staff. Friendly and helpful. No waiting. Seat yourself. Large clean and bright. Daily specials. My wife had the chicken fried steak and I had liver and onions. Lunch entree items come with your choice of TWO sides. I had mashed potatoes with brown gravy and fried okra. Delicious. My wife had a salad and also the fried okra. Excellent value. Everyone loves great value. Photos attached. We will eat here again. And will bring friends.

Went with my husband, it was very packed. Had availability within a couple minutes. First and foremost the food was subpar, husband had to order his steak again due to it being the wrong order of meat and it not being cooked to order. After he got it, still was not cooked to order. While waiting I observed the lack of care with cleanliness and conversations around customers.
No one was using gloves besides the cooks, constantly touching hair, pants, shirts, personal items, putting food into their mouths, and touching food with bare hands. We didn't see anyone once clean their hands. They cleaned counters and picked up dirty dishes while picking up clean dishes with new orders on them. Also ice chest is to be closed and scoop to be stored outside of the chest away from the ice. It was left open with scoop inside as well as put touching the ice with bare hands using cups to scoop ice.
They were very attentive to make sure food and products were served properly and to our liking, so that was the only nice part.
Restaurant lacked in a lot, heath inspection definitely needs to be secret shoppers in that location. Definitely needs to be put on dirty dining.

Was excited to eat some food going to see historic florence Stopped here not good The wait alone -we felt like we should leave I wish I had a different waitress. I ordered extra eggs instead of hash brown and toast and she yelled at me and I told her I don’t mind paying for two extra eggs. She was dirty wiping he hands all over her clothes not wearing a uniform like other waitresses she wasn’t clean. The food came back lukewarm the worst experience I’ve had in a while. I didn’t even take the food home to my dogs and only had a couple bites. I feel like if I would’ve got a different waitress maybe it would’ve been a different experience. And she didn’t even give me my two extra eggs I had to ask her to take it off the ticket. I gave her two dollars for the two times I saw her. Eater beware

Been here twice for breakfast and both times were excellent, food and service.
Great breakfast! Sunday morning was busy but food came out exactly as ordered. Our group tried pancakes, eggs Benny, and SMS omelet. Everything was cooked properly and delicious. Never had to ask for a coffee refill, the team worked together! And fairly priced.

I had not gone to florence Cafe for quite some time due to a bad experience. I have gone 3-4 times in the past several weeks and plan on going again. Significant improvement. The service was great and so was the food.

It’s.. ok I guess. Definitely nothing special. I got an order to go. I had a skillet and my girl got pancakes with bacon. My skillet was pretty bland so I added Cholula..then it was better. The portion was pretty good tho and the prices for combos weren’t bad. Apparently they charge arms and legs if you get a side of something. $6.99 for a side of bacon?? It better be a full pound for that price! Service was average but the girls seemed nice enough. My girl lives out here in Florence but that’s changing soon so most likely wouldn’t be back.
