This is my second time eating here. The food is great but they still have alot to work on. Both times we have eaten here they did not have bread. What kind of Italian restaurant doesn’t have bread! Our waitress was overwhelmed and making a lot of mistakes at multiple tables. Hopefully they can get some of these things fixed up.

We had a mixed experience during our visit. The food was brought out sporadically, and unfortunately one person in our party did not receive their entrée until after the rest of the group had already finished eating, which was disappointing and disruptive to the overall experience.
After requesting to speak with a manager, Dave, the owner, came out to speak with us. He was empathetic, listened to our concerns, and offered a resolution, which we appreciated and felt helped acknowledge the issues we experienced.
However, our service fell short. Our waitress, Robin, repeatedly spoke negatively about the kitchen staff and at one point even told us she was embarrassed, which made the situation uncomfortable and felt unprofessional.
While we appreciated Dave’s willingness to address the situation, the service and timing issues significantly impacted our visit.

Omg their food is AMAZING!! I’m from New York so I’m picky about my Italian restaurants but this place well exceeded my expectations! I could tell right away their ingredients were fresh like their ricotta, meatballs and sauce!! We just got back from ITALY too and this owner absolutely did his homework on authentic Italian food! Well done guys! And shout out to Tamara, ask for her 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

My family and I visited Dave’s Italian Eatery about a week ago, and we were genuinely blown away by how good the food was — especially for a brand-new restaurant. You can instantly tell they care about quality. The pizza is made with REAL cheese (which is surprisingly hard to find these days), and it makes a huge difference in flavor. I ordered the Manicotti Pasta, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in years. You can tell everything is made with intention, not rushed or mass-produced.
I want to mention something important because it shows the character of the owners and staff. During our first visit, the water quality was extremely bad — bad enough to change the taste of every drink. I left a 1-star review at the time, not to criticize the restaurant, but simply to alert management that something was off. To their credit, they responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine concern. Instead of brushing it off, they took immediate action and installed a brand-new reverse osmosis system to fix the issue. That kind of responsiveness, transparency, and willingness to improve is rare these days and deserves major recognition.
Now that the water issue is fully resolved, we are absolutely planning to come back often — especially since we live close by. We’re excited to try more of the menu because the quality of the food alone has already won us over. The inside of the restaurant has also been beautifully remodeled. It’s clean, modern, and welcoming without feeling overcrowded or noisy. You can tell they put effort into creating a comfortable dine-in experience.
It’s hard to find great Italian food in Gilbert, but this place truly stands out. If you’re looking for fresh, delicious dishes and a team that genuinely cares about their customers, Dave’s Italian Eatery is a must-try. We’re rooting for them and look forward to seeing this place become a staple in the community. 🍝🍕

My Family went to Dave's Italian Eatery last night for my daughter's birthday. We arrived at 5 , restaurant had about 10 people or so already seated. We chose a table in the back of the restaurant and paired two tables together to make us 6 fit. We were given basket of rolls with rock hard butter, very bland bread. A little while after ordering we were given our salads, they forgot mine but I was not charged for it either. Soon after salads arrived so did our appetizers, then only a few minutes later our main dishes started to arrive. I under stand this place is still new but, timing is the easy part, it was not great having to choose between food courses as we didn't want anything to get cold. Responses from the table Cesar salad had way too much dressing. Fried zucchini not much flavor could be frozen. Spaghetti and meat balls , sauce was runny seemed the noodles were still covered in water before plating, meatballs were very solid and hard to cut through with not much flavor. My chicken Parmesan was decent but could have been cooked more for a better outer crust. Napkins are the very thin disposable ones. Plates were too large for the size of tables. The bill came was surprised by the $4 fountain soda.
The staff was nice , we did tip

Just what we needed in the Val Vista neighborhood...an incredible Italian restaurant. Had dinner on Saturday evening and it was a 10. Service was great, the food awesome and the atmosphere was very neighborly. Definitely will be back again and again...Yum!!!

New restaurant open where Rio Rico used to be. Best things? Menu looks promising, portion sizes were great. Bad things? Service was terrible. Our waitress literally left and never came back. I asked about the happy hr which is listed on the menu and was told that didn't start yet. We ordered the wings and calamari. Wings were great, calamari was overcooked and burnt on the outside but raw inside. The batter they are using had a bad aftertaste and it wasn't seasoned. Personally I probably won't be back bc of the terrible experience I mean she never came back to take drink orders. So weird, we had to ge another server to go find her to pay.

Good quality food, and fairly priced for the Gilbert area. It's a new opening and they are working on getting everything running smoothly. We will be back.

18 out of 10! All 3 sauces we had tasted homemade and clean, like real Italian food. We had eggplant parmigiana, chicken parmigiana vodka sauce penne and fetching Alfredo. Presentation and serving size were fantastic. I wish I had a picture of our food but we devoured it before I thought to take a picture. The inside was beautiful as well. We will be back for sure!
