Vero Chicago Pizza

Being from Chicago we are always looking for good thin crust pizza in AZ and we have found it!! The Sears Tower pizza was delicious with a great sauce. Way better than Salernos!

I ordered a pizza at 6 PM. By 8:30 PM, I had aged approximately three presidential terms waiting for it. The pizzaria apparently believes pizza dough needs to be aged like fine wine, because after two hours of “preparation,” my pizza was still somewhere in the quantum realm.

Spoiler alert: it never arrived. Not late, not cold, not even in the form of a sad cardboard box. Just… nothing. I half expect they launched it into orbit instead of delivering it to my house.

Honestly, if you’re hungry, you’d be better off drawing a circle on a piece of paper, coloring it red, and pretending it’s a pizza. At least that way you’ll have something in front of you.

In conclusion: this pizzaria is less a restaurant and more a performance art piece about disappointment. Bravo, I guess?

Great pizza. Grossly overpriced. We didn't like the lighting on the booths. Very stark white light.... Gave a very bad ambience.... If money is not a factor they do have very good chicago-style pizza. But then you can just go to Salerno's in Gilbert for a genuine Chicago Pizza at a fair price.

We weren’t expecting to find Chicago style pizza in Arizona but Vero knocked it out of the park. The deep dish was excellent- crust was buttery and light, very similar to what we expect at our favorite Chicago eateries. Service was great, priced as you would expect.

How often do you read a review where even the house salad is worth talking about? Vero’s really delivers. I’ve ordered from them several times since they first opened and not once have they let me down. The ingredients are top notch, and the cheese and crust are outstanding.

Gilbert has plenty of good pizza spots and I’ve tried them all more than once, but Vero’s is hands down my favorite. And I wasn’t kidding about the salad. My wife orders it every time and raves about the thick, fresh vegetables they pile on.

If someone asks me where to get great pizza, I always recommend Vero’s.
