Had to call 4 times before someone answered. When I arrived host was rude and did not care about customers. Staff was better when it was Don Rubens. They never would have hung up on a customer calling. Would understand if they were busy, but parking lot and restaurant were empty when I arrived

Greeter was rude, didn't have any clue about what I ordered for pickup. Food was soggy and unappealing. I will never go back here again. We need Don Rubens back

I was originally excited as it was on inKind but the lack of service and the stale food diminished my experience. Lastly they gave me the wrong check number and it was a hassle especially since all my credits were used on another tables bill

This place was not a comeback at all. The drinks were absolutely terrible. And not a selection at all!! .The food I ordered was fajitas. The chicken chunks were so big and no flavor and the service…,No one came to check on us one time!! Not once!! it took 20 minutes for them to bring it to go box, for my husbands enchilada …I will not be going here again. I will not be referring anybody to come here ,
when it was don Rubens it was lit. The drinks were fantastic. The food was good. It was busy, busy busy. This is very disappointing. Now I have to find a new place.. there’s Rita’s on 35th and the I-10 I guess.. . hopefully there’s one still around because this did not meet the bar at all.

The food was similar to Don Rubens, but the service was lackluster at best. No smile, nothing pleasant to say.

I don't typically leave reviews, especially reviews that show an establishment in a negative light. Hopefully the new owners of Sophia's will take these reviews into consideration. When this place was Don Rubens, the staff and service quality were topnotch. There was a dedicated person (sometimes two), at the front desk, answering phones, handling take out, and fielding incoming customers. In the dining area, there was an older gentleman that ran a super tight ship, and no staff left tables unattended. On a Friday night, you were lucky to get a spot in the parking lot at DR. We were able to park right up front, with available spaces everywhere.
Don Rubens was packed for a reason. Just purchasing DR along with their menu will not save the restaurant without quality service and experience. Far too often, we see great businesses flail due to new owners believing they can skimp on quality while keeping a loyal customer base. It’s sad, because Don Rubens was such a great establishment.

The new owners are changing it so much. The beautiful mural on the east wall is gone. The cute candle holders with people holding hands in a circle, gone. It used to feel a bit of Mexico, but I think they are trying to be Scottsdale. Food still good, allure gone. Probably never going back.

Something has changed there. Food was the same(good). Service was off, slow to ask for drinks and take order....less employees?
Parking: Parking was good.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair ramp not close to door. We parked close and used sidewalk ramp.

Don’t order to go unless you want to waste your time. Tried to place a to go order was put on hold for 20 mins then try to call back no answer go down there thinking man they must be busy but no only two customers there obviously just don’t care for business. Sadly they were so good when they were Manuel’s or whatever they were before sofias customer service went waaaayyyyy down.

Sadly, this place has gone downhill. It was delicious and well kept when they first opened. Went there a month ago. Food was mediocre. It tasted like old oil was used. Several items on the menu were out of stock. The granddaughter used the bathroom, and the faucet was broken and sprayed water all over her. Wasn't a do not use sign on it. When we reported the issue, they said "yeah we know." We were the only customers from 11 to noon. So sad to see this. We used to enjoy going there.
