I just happened to think about this place today. I would treat myself to JJ's once a month. Now that I've moved to Casa Grande, I really miss it. Yes when I make it to Phoenix I have to swing by there. Their combos with the various sides are like a busted drum ? YA CANT BEAT IT

I was so excited to try the BBQ brisket sandwich at the Foodieland event yesterday. It was, hands down, the WORST bbq brisket I've ever had. The portion of beef was pitiful - it was mostly a bun with a small amount of brisket on it. The brisket was all stringy and totally dry. It was actually inedible. I threw it out. Complete waste of money. Keep your $17.50 and spend it at a different vendor.

A sanctuary for BBQ lovers is JJ's Louisiana BBQ. A delectable experience is created by the rich tastes and expertly smoked meats. The staff's pleasant service enhances the experience, and the menu's variety appeals to all palates. A must-go-to for barbecue aficionados looking for real Louisiana flavors in the metropolis. Strongly suggested.

I can't say if I hate it or enjoy it because they were closed, and it look like they were permanently

I haven’t been to the restaurant so maybe it’s good but the food truck on the other hand, smoked chicken thighs were tough jerky, brisket was very dry and not even cut right and pulled pork was super dry, didn’t even have that good Smokey flavor only the taste of what I can only describe as dirty smoke mixed with lighter fluid. Spent $32 after tip and ended up throwing pretty much all of it away, Mac and cheese was ok but mostly mush and bland…. From someone that knows BBQ I was very disappointed

This place is closed! On a Friday at noon! Closed! Was really hoping to taste their brisket!

I'm not sure what happened to JJ's? The food and service used to be amazing but it has been a while since I've been here. The service was ok. The soda machine was out of ice and most of the soda options were out, the kool-aid tasted like sweetened tapwater and they were out of tartar sauce. They filled the ice machine and made tartar sauce though so that was appreciated. The chicken was dry, the macaroni and potato salad were both store-bought. The peach cobbler wasn't great. The mac and cheese wasn't good either. The catfish was absolutely delicious and the greens were good. Sadly, I don't think I'll be back.

It is difficult to give a locally owned restaurant, a 1-star review. However, these are our reasons. Came here today after being in the area. The restaurant was empty, which was odd, being that it is Saturday, 1230pm. Order 2 beef brisket sandwiches with 2 sides each, a canned soda and a water cup. The bill was $46 (20% tip included). Expensive lunch for 2. The meat came warm with cold center. The meat was not good by any stretch of imagination. Coleslaw was ok and the potato salad was pretty awful. Portions were also very small. Very bad experience on a consumer level. Only 1 tray was finished and the other was discarded.

Spent $35 on a tiny to go container. The "Dinner Roll" was a hot dog bun. The worst BBQ restaurant. We walked in there on a Friday night and there was literally not a single sole in the restaurant. I made a joke to my wife, "not even one person here on a Friday night, not promising" now I understand why there wasn't anyone there.

The food was great. Good atmosphere, the owner is a great guy too, he stepped away from the smoker and sat down and had a great conversation with us. The brisket was so tender. I would highly recommend.

First time here to watch a great band we have followed for several years, Qhalage. The inside is good sized so it made the music sound really good. Now to business, I had the pulled pork and it was awesome, great smoke flavor but not over powering and very tender. My wife had the brisket and I ate some, of course, and it was very flavorful and the most tender brisket I have had. The cornbread had good flavor but a little dry for my liking. The beans were really good as well. I knocked a star off because I'm not a fan of plastic utensils when I go to a sit down dinner and they have no artificial sweetener for the tea, other than that this place has great bbq. Just had the peach cobbler and it is definitely the bomb.

I am a Foodie and I went to this place for the first time. The first thing that disturbed me is that they didn't have bbq chicken or turkey legs ready to go. So I got some pulled pork, a hot link sandwich and some sides. The order taker said the food came with bbq sauce. When I got home there was no bbq sauce. The pulled pork was dry. The hot link was small and on a hotdog bun we the no sauce. The sides were bland. The overall meal was not tasty and the service was poor!!

Don't get me wrong the food was good, Walmarts produce section is the best. As far as everything else, nah. Ordered the chicken sandwich dinner plate, asked to upgrade to a large drink. Ended up charging every single item separate for a total of $21. Chicken sandwich is served and uh what it was cut open chicken leg with the BONE STILL IN THERE! Won't be going back!
