My wife and I were very disappointed when we went to our favorite Village Inn location on Bell rd in Phoenix, AZ, only to find it is now closed permanently. We were just there on Friday last week, and no one said anything about it. Then, following the directions on a paper posted on the door, we decided to give another location (59th Ave. & Thunderbird) a chance. Sadly, the experience at this new location was HORRIBLE. Service was spotty, our order was wrong multiple times, and they told us we couldn't have a regular spoon for our coffee because there was a spoon shortage. REALLY? A spoon shortage? The whole thing was so bad, we didn't even stay for our free pie. I don't know what happened to cause our favorite place to shut down, but our regular servers and the great service at our home location will be sorely missed... We have visited Village Inn for breakfast twice a week for the last three years, and now we have to find a new place to meet with friends. ?

Asked for fish and chips and was told they were all out. Then the couple that came in 5 minutes after me and they was able to order it. Then gave me a bs answer that it was frozen from me but thawed for the people couple of minutes later. Should of been up front with customers let me choose if I wanted a couple of minutes for it.

My fiance and I adore this place as a simple and affordable date destination. There was a long period of time when we would come nearly every week to enjoy some diner classics. It's homey but lively and the food is always the same 5 star diner quality. Also I cannot stress this enough: Free pie Wednesday.

I was generally pleased with my visit for breakfast with a friend at this morning. The server was kind and attentive, the food came fairly rapidly and was made to order. However the serving size was noticeably on the small side and that's what falls short of a 5-star rating.

Always has pie ready to go. This time though I was looking for something on the healthy side. I had whole grain pancakes (3) with bananas in them sliced strawberry and chopped pecans on top. So yummy.

Eggs on the eggs Benedict were over cooked, although the rest of the food was good. Very disappointing for the 2 people in our who ordered it. Did not send it back because food already took awhile. We think it was the cook this. Expect we would probably have a different experience at a different time. I'm sure we will go back.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about a waitress here who goes above and so far beyond she is amazing she brings my dad a warm cloth for his face and always makes sure my dad is able to eat his food even with a straw he has cancer of the mouth and is in excruciating pain and drewls and can barely open his mouth to eat. U have no idea how appreciated u are...Village Inn is so lucky to have u as an employee..from the bottom of our hearts we thank you...

Always Love Village Inn. Enjoy the food Everytime we go in. There is always usually a wait time but most of the time it's well worth it. Love the country fried steak scrambler and most all the omelettes. The pie is great whenever we choose to get some. One of my favorite breakfast spots no matter which one we choose to go too.
