Today, I want to thank Faith the cashier who kindly helped me find an online coupon. I apologized about having trouble figuring the Safeway app and she graciously reassured me she could help and she did! I really appreciated! Last time I tried to use an online coupon and asked the cashier, she (I will not name her) was so loudly condescending and irritated with me, I gave up. When someone asks politely for help and there is no other or very few customers in the checkout line, it should be part of the cashier's job description to help the customer. Some of us are older and didn't grow up with cell phones attached to our hands! So, again, kudos and thanks to Faith!

Usually love this Safeway - has everything you need, clean, etc. but the last two times I've gone, I have gotten home & something that I bought was expired.... First time was cheese sticks.... Expired in SEPTEMBER. & just today we bought sausage for breakfast & it was 4 days past the expiration date. & smelled horrible. Not sure how to fix this problem but it sucks!! Shouldn't have to check & worry about expiration dates on everything.

I bought the farm rich meatballs that the sign said were $7.99. Went to the register and it was ringing up $9.99. I insisted it was $7.99 and they didn't believe me. I had to wait while they found someone to go back and verify this. It was taking him forever to check the price so I went to see what the hold up was. That's when I saw him taking the time to not only remove the sale price for the ones I was buying but every other one in the cooler. I didn't understand why my answer wasn't good enough and then why I had to wait even longer because he had to take all the sale prices down from the week before. I mentioned to him I don't have time to wait while you take all the sales prices down. I've had an issue like this before and talked to the district manager. The district manager mentioned how they are not supposed to go verify things like this as this isn't what they do. I mentioned that to the cashier and he told me well I'm giving you that price but normally they don't do this. Today is Thursday the prices changed yesterday. Then to add more insult to the issue I had to listen to a speech from the cashier about how "we're going to give you the sale price this time but normally we don't do this. This Safeway is so ridiculous from now on I'm going to start taking pictures on my phone of the sale items. I hate coming here and leave feeling like I stole something. This is the worst Safeway ever here are the reasons down below 1. The items at Safeway are super pricey for a gallon of milk is $4.99 at Walmart it is $3.99 I took a picture of one of them at the checkout & it was a KIT KAT candy bar they want $1.49 just for a candy bar it is crazy P.S KIT KATS are my favorite kind of candy 2. They got a new thing called self checkout & you know how it is supposed to go faster & quicker well it does not I say actually slow due to the Safeway app not working for coupon deals. 3. So you know the little scanner guns you can use for the big items in your shopping cart well if you have a QR code it is supposed to work for that but it does not work that is also another problem in the Safeway app.4. Another thing is that if you for get your iPhone at home well but you have your Safeway card you might want to go back home & get your iPhone or unless you know your iPhones phone number because the Safeway plastic cards do not work anymore due to all of the coupons are online now in the Safeway app5. I have never used drive up & pick up but I don't think it is that good due to I never really see anyone using it So in my opinion this place is ok but if I lived closer to another grocery store I might go there instead of Safeway due to this 5 reasons. Love our little supermarket up here in Estrella! They usually have just about everything we need and often have sales that make themMore affordable than an Instacart order from Walmart or Fry's. Their bakery, sushi, salad bar is elite, as I'm worth a trip spoedrjdally for that reason.Staff are outstanding, they employs many local Estrella youth and Estrella neighbors looking for a side job. Keep up the great work!

The worst customer service now.The store has been declining for years now.It hit a all time low today 3/19/23.Went to buy dinner and went to self check out line.Credit card only I guess.I asked to use cash not seeing the sign but no big deal it was only a question and the kid walks up and said no and cancels my transaction right in front of me.I said are you kidding me I could of used my debit card he tells me to move out of line and come over here.I said excuse me where is your manager at I'm not moving or waiting in another line.Another kid comes over maybe 20 years old named Faith a front end manager with a smirk on her face.I said I would to complain about this guy as he was standing right there.I asked him to step away and he tells me NO and the manager Faith said and did nothing.I could of swore that Faith said white trash under her breath but when I said what did you say she looked away and smirked! At this time at 52 years old I am livid now.I ask for a real manager and here comes Samir the guy reeks like cigarettes.Does not get where I'm coming from and He tells me that he has had not one complaint on Faith. Not listening to me or even saying sorry for the bad experience.It's not really the point, but the guys only been there less than a year and I've been a customer there for 13 years since the store opened.Not my first rodeo with the kids at the store being rude to customers. I told Faith without customers there would be no business. She tells me without workers there would be nothing on the shelf with a smart attitude.This store has lost my business for good now.These kind of people should not be representing the only grocery store up here and Estrella Mountain Ranch.Specially, when management will do nothing about the situation, read the reviews. It's very common problem.High prices, bare shelves, bad customer service.Wait in lines that are longer than three people. It's ridiculous poor management always been that way but has gotten much worse over the last 2 years.Also, now they're towing cars from the parking lot telling the property management that they were abandoned and they're really not.The store director doesn't address issues either.No call back from this guy Larry aka store director for weeks now.

been cutting slack for the last 3 years due to supply issues, drivers, workers and then inflation to price hikes but it has gotten too far. I don't mind spending more money for quality but when the quality of your goods goes away and you still Jack up the prices it is time to shop somewhere else. The produce is low quality, tasteless and tends to go bad real quickly. Went today for meat and you'd think I was trying to get Wagu steaks for the price they were asking. when you charge $20/lb for filets then they better not look like you injected them with beet juice, never seen meat that was almost neon and glowing fRom whatever they prepped it with to make it look edible. NY Strips....sooooo much fat on them there was barely any steak. Tried to do grocery shopping and only was able to get coffee creamer. No veggies, no bread, no steaks, no fruit. Just gave up and will have to drive into town now to hit up Fry's.

To say this is the worst grocery store ever would be impossible considering I can't possibly visit them all. However, this is hands down the worst grocery store in my 30 years of having to grocery shop. Other than the Staff working Bakery, Pharmacy, Floral, etc. as well as a few long time employees, the customer service is pathetic. Inventory is horrendous. I have complained to corporate and they had the store manager call me. He blamed supply chain issues first, but I made it clear this has been going on longer than the pandemic, and has just gotten worse. (Examples: sugar free chocolate pudding, they told me wasn't available, well it was at every other grocery store. One time they told me a product doesn't exist only to see it in the store shelf a few months later) Then the reason was because the main warehouse doesn't give them everything they order. I can drive down to the safeway 10 miles away and they have the items. I can drive to Frys and they have even more items and no bare shelves. The staff at checkout just talk to each other and not the customer, often discussing inappropriate things, such as how they asked out a customer or some other other topic. Now when it comes to price gouging these guys are pros. While I am highly capable of understanding the current inflationary situation and just how bad it is, slim Jim's don't cost twice as much as they did a week ago. I go to Walgreens and they are half the price. Heck, even alcohol is cheaper at Walgreens, what is cheaper at any Walgreens?Even more of an issue, there is approximately 50,000 people living in Estrella Mountain Ranch and they are the only grocery store. My guess, this is just a guess and not a fact. I would guess that there is an agreement of some sort in place that Newland Communities won't allow another grocery store in Estrella for a certain period of time. Otherwise what grocery would not build a store up here and take all of these customers from Safeway? Okay, maybe that is a conspiracy theory. Bottom line is Safeway doesn't care and they a raking in the dough while having limited products on their shelves.

Absolutely hate a checking out my groceries especially with a 4 month old and 2 kiddos who I need to keep an eye on and need to make sure they're not in anyone's way. Hate when there's a long line which there always is because they usually only have 1 checkout open if any! Shoot I don't get paid to bag my groceries and check myself out quite frankly I don't understand why this even exists honestly most of the time the kids working there are fooling around making jokes not doing ANYTHING how about you guys train them to be cashiers I bet it would solve some issues. Stop closing the ONE cashier line early please! The least you can do after all the price gouging you guys already do! And people check your receipts I can't tell you how many times I come home to find I overpaid for something that I clipped a coupon for!

Went on Sunday May 30th. One line was open and self check out. The lines were long. The girl working self checkout, wax extremely busy. An associate asked the girl behind the counter to make a phone call. She was rude and said "you can't do it yourself." I was at the the very last self checkout on the right. I turned to her and stared at her in disbelief. What a rude girl. This Safeway needs a better manager and more staff, not just kids running the show. You have a great manager in Glendale, maybe she needs a transfer.

Thanks Safeway for THE ugliest cake I have ever seen!!! Everyone recommended this great job they do, this is the embarrassing junk I just picked up for $30 And I have zero time to fix it The description was mostly green decorations, girly , and the Girl Scout emblem and the words troop 6712 I went to customer care desk and the young girl literally said “that’s the worst I have ever seen, they normally do great, am so sorry” end of story

I was thrilled knowing that I had a grocery store just 2 miles from home. It's been quite a disappointment. I don't feel it's fair that I need to drive an additional 8 miles to look for Hispanic grocery items. Cuisine should not be based on what Ethnicities a community is made of (at least this is how I feel). Who doesn't love Mexican food? Home remedies? They're international. Cinnamon sticks are international! Really? Who buys them in a little bottle at triple the price? No fresh garlic? Conveniently to them, there was only organic peeled packages. On another occasion, there was no cilantro. :/Please update your app to reflect what you truly keep in stock. I'm glad I decided to drop in versus having my groceries delivered. It would've been a waste of time and money because you didn't have a couple of items in stock. Please help us feel welcomed to the community. This sound silly to some, but it's pretty frustrating to me. Please stock these spice and chili packages

Shout out to Alec in the Deli department! Ordered some deli meat and then we wanted a sandwich but couldn't decided which one to order. We asked Alec what he recommended... philly cheesesteak.... so opted to try and it was soooo good! You can tell the effort he puts in at work. Not like others who just seem to get through the day and honestly makes us feel like we are bothering them. May seem like an odd review but Alec deserves it. GREAT customer service!!!! He definitely made an impression on us.
