Desert Lounge + Grill Reviews
Myself and my daughter dined in and were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the sea bass, and my daughter ordered the steak. Both were very flavorful, especially the steak. The service from our server, Lily, was phenomenal. She was very helpful. Would come back again on our travels.

Desert Lounge + Grill offers a diverse menu featuring a large, perfectly cooked steak that is great for sharing. This restaurant, located inside a hotel/resort, requires reservations and accommodates guests until around 9 PM. The service can be mixed, with some staff being attentive and others less so, but overall, service is appreciated. It has a limited kids menu but is accommodating of young children. The food is generally good, with dishes like fish and chips and elk burgers with french fries. The hummus platter remains a favorite, with some customers even ordering a second one. The menu provides an amazing variety for most diet types, using ingredients from Arizona's natural crops, including delicious green chiles. The ambiance is upscale, with eclectic jazz music and a crackling fire creating a relaxing atmosphere. Guests note that the atmosphere feels more beige than most non-hotel chain restaurants, giving it a cozy yet elegant touch.
Recent reviews highlight that the food is good and priced within expectations for proximity to a large national park. The salmon and corn succotash are often praised for being perfectly prepared and delicious. The Caesar salad is considered one of the best, and the cocktails are enjoyed by many. The banana flower paella is described as interesting and very good, while the Brookie dessert is a crowd favorite. Service has been noted as top notch, with friendly and helpful staff, although some mention that staff can be overworked. The restaurant tends to be busy, requiring reservations, especially unless dining at the bar.
While some guests expressed surprise at the high quality of the food—especially noting the dry-aged steak cooked to perfection—others pointed out that not all dishes meet expectations, such as the pizza. The sautéed mushrooms with wild mushrooms side is highlighted as exceptional. The atmosphere is welcoming, helped by the friendly host and chef, and the bartender is praised as a knowledgeable and fun mixologist. However, some reviews mention that the presence of large screens and the hotel ambiance can feel less cozy for those not interested in sports or looking for a more intimate setting. Overall, Desert Lounge + Grill remains a hidden gem with seriously good food that surpasses expectations for a hotel restaurant, though it may not be ideal for sweaty hikers or those with pets.
