We sampled Arizona Sake years ago and have been ordering it at every Sushi restaurant that carries it. Tonight we made some poke at home with Chula’s fresh ahi tuna and paired it with the amazing flavor of the Navajo tea brewed junmia ginjo. We planned on saving the second bottle for another occasion, but it was too good to resist. Thank you! Arizona made, with a Diné twist!
Paired with Saturday night “Stay-at-Home” Teharu sushi, it was spectacular! An incredibly smooth, slightly sweet and moderately fruity palate that is by far the best we’ve ever tasted. The next bottle won’t hang out in the fridge nearly as long!
Amazing sake, vibrant and floral.

Arizona Sake offers a unique sake experience, crafting high-quality, inventive sake in the high country of northeastern Arizona. The sake is made by a master sake brewer from Yokohama, Japan, who uses local ingredients like desert herbs and prickly pear. Visitors can enjoy a tasting of different sakes, including Junmai Ginjo Class, Nama, "The Premium One," which is rich, smooth, and slightly dry with notes of pear and apple. The Navajo Tea Sake incorporates the desert plant greenthread, offering earthy toastiness. The Herbs & Bitters variety has notes of cinnamon, thyme, and smoky apple pear cider. The Prickly Pear Sake is a bright, fruity option perfect as an aperitif.
This sake is described as technically well-finished yet unorthodox, with unique flavors that can pair well with American BBQ, steaks, game meats, hamburgers, hot dogs, and even Navajo cuisine. It can also complement red meat sashimi and certain types of sushi and tempura. Arizona Sake is noted for its strength in pairing with non-Japanese cuisines such as other Asian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and Italian dishes. Sake Lees (sake kasu) are also available, which are hard to find in America. The experience of meeting the master sake brewer and tasting his creations is highlighted as an "A winning Arizona craft sake" experience. Arizona Sake is considered a hidden gem and is definitely worth a detour for a unique sake adventure.
