We stopped at Swad Stop Punjabi Dhaba on I-40 while visiting Petrified Forest National Park. It’s a Punjabi restaurant located at a truck stop where many Punjabi truck drivers stop to eat, shower, and rest. The restaurant itself was very clean and well maintained. There are couple of more food stores like Burger King inside the truck stop.

As a truck driver, I have explored many locales and had a lot of Indian food. There was nothing inherently wrong with the food, service or atmosphere, but it was a little bland considering. That along with the highway pricing, I doubt I’ll return. Not bad, just not memorable.

The foods good. Service seems a little rude. Maybe they don’t like white people? I dunno. I tell’em “thanks so much, have a nice day,” and I’m just stared at. Maybe it’s the language barrier? It just seems like I’m bothering them when I’m ordering food and giving them my hard earned money. I don’t expect cartwheels, but c’mon man….
