A great diner, Incredible food, large portions, but what makes this place truly great is the staff. It was impressive sitting at the counter, watching them handle an absolute rush of orders with courtesy, collaboration, communication, and positivity towards their fellow servers and the cook line. The staff always checked in on me seeing if I needed anything even if they weren’t my server. They always had a smile and a pleasant hello - Whatever this place is doing is very special, highly recommend, five stars is not enough.

It is all ones because of the fact that we had been waiting to sit for 45 minutes before a manager asked one of the employees how long we had been there. Then we heard an argument insue between the manager and the employee because the employee did not mark down what time we had showed up. In fact the employee actually asked the manager why it even mattered what time we showed up. Well, I can tell you because we had to get back to Phoenix quickly and we were there as a family to see other family members that we have not seen any long time. So not knowing when we showed up means we sat for considerably longer waiting to get in then we should have. And then ultimately they just came out and said sorry we can't see you. So after waiting for an hour they simply just told us we couldn't be seated. Pretty ridiculous experience if you ask me! Absolutely ridiculous way to run a business as well

Black Bear Diner located in Lake Havasu City AZ. It was better off the Jerry's it was bfor.

We went in tonite a Friday 1/10/25 thinking their top chiefs would b at play, boy we were wrong. I ordered ribs, fries, steamed veggies, & chicken strips. The ribs were boiled tasted gross, the veggies were hard not soft, & the fries were soggy & barley warm. Just awful. The restaurant it self is filthy. The window seals r dusty as all hell, & windows need to be washed. The bottles & salt & pepper shakers r greasy, dirty, gross. The silver wear spotty, yucky. We could see the kitchen from our seat & holy shit that floor is horrible u could see all the shit under the tables, the grease puts a nasty shine & looks like hazardous slip conditions an accident waiting to happen. The hole place needs to be scrubbed from the inside out. Just gross. Our server Amber was the only great thing about the hole nite. Thank u Amber.

You need to not have delivery drivers dispatched to wait 20 to 30 minutes for virtually every order. This is a problem with all BBDs, and it is the worst place to do deliveries out of. Most drivers avoid it like the plague because of this and your food will arrive cold because of this. Do not order delivery from this restaurant!

Came in on Christmas Eve at 7:30 hours said they close at 8:00 p.m. and I was told they were already closed because they were short a cook ridiculous to have someone tell me that as I've worked in the restaurant industry and basically that's just someone saying they wanted to go home early instead of taking a single

Waitress was extremely rude to us and got our order wrong and when i brought it up she yelled at me telling me i was trying to get a free meal asking me what i wanted her to do about it. I brought up the issue nicely too i was genuinely in shock that she responded like that. This incident was a couple months ago but just now putting my experience into words. Waitress was Alisha. Crazy time!

Mr Bill

I honestly did not want to write this review since we are frequent patrons of Black Bear Diner in Lake Havasu, and truly wanted to cut them a break since it was Thanksgiving. But seeing as how I am a master reviewer with well over 300 reviews, and over 8 million readers to date, and several people have told me it is my job, here goes. We already knew what to expect since it was Thanksgiving day. We put our name in at 11:15 a.m. and went and sat in the car until I received a text exactly 1 hour later. We were seated, and our waitress came shortly. The place was an absolute madhouse. She took our order and about 15 minutes later we received our soup cornbread, side salad, and a little berry pie to go. Up until that Point everything things were looking good, but it was all downhill from there. Since they had a special Thanksgiving menu with only three items (the turkey dinner, ham dinner, and prime rib dinner), we assumed they would have an ample Supply ready to go in anticipation for a huge Thanksgiving crowd. We were sorely mistaken. We waited as patiently as anyone could wait. 45 minutes passed, and by this time we we're starting to become quite frustrated and finally lost our appetites. I asked our waitress two or three times if our dinner would be up soon. She told me she would let us know when it was getting close. After 1 hour I could see they had not even started to cook our meals yet. At this point we just wanted out up there at any cost. I am a very patient customer and will bend over backwards to be polite. But I felt I had to get out of there, and try to salvage what was left of thanksgiving. I finally walked up to the counter and asked her to please just cancel our dinner and bring us the bill. I went to attempt to pay at the counter, and could not even do that because it was so chaotic. I went back, handed our waitress $20 for a $12 ticket, told her to keep the change, grabbed the Berry pie, and ran out the door. The total time from putting our name in to getting out with no dinner was exactly 2 hours and 15 minutes. I am sorry to say this, but it was not only the worst Thanksgiving dining experience, but the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life, and we go out to eat literally hundreds of times every year. Shortly thereafter, we decided to eat the berry pie, and it too was absolutely horrible. It was not even cooked and the crust was as hard as a rock. Needless to say we will never forget this Thanksgiving nightmare, nor will we ever patronize Black Bear Diner on a holiday again. I truly hope in the future, the management comes up with a much better game plan for the holiday crowds. Thank you for reading, Bill

Absolutely the worst restaurant on Thanksgiving day. I cannot believe sitting for lunch for 2 1/2 hours and they wouldn’t even wait on you. Thank you you black bear for nothing.
