Mona's Frybread Reviews
I've been enjoying Mona's frybread and tamales for at least 18 years and have found none better! The awesome red chili is cooked on mesquite wood! I live in Tucson and the 27 miles one way to Mona's is well worth the drive! The tamales are good-sized and the masa to meat ratio is great! Also, no fillers like potatoes, carrots, etc. Mona always asks if we want olives. Hubby really likes her green corn tamales, but I'm stuck on the red! I can't recommend Mona's enough!
We got the Red Chili and beans, plus a honey powered sugar. Both were delicious, would definitely stop by again if we were in the area.
Have been eating Mona's Frybread for 11-12 years and don't intend to stop anytime soon. She also makes amazing tamales in season; however, I have ordered tamales at other times throughout the year. Mona has spoiled Hubby and I for any other tamales! Great meat to masa ratio and no fillers like potatoes or carrots. Gives a choice of adding green olives or not. Tamales have a nice "bite" to them. Highly recommend!

Mona's Frybread is a small, locally-run eatery that serves delicious Native American-inspired cuisine. Their combo meal, featuring fry bread, beans, chili, cheese, tomato, and lettuce, is a standout at just $9. The fry bread, served hot and crispy, is a highlight, and their chili is often described as "to die for." Customers have praised the red chili, noting its generous sharable size, making it a popular choice. With consistently good food, friendly staff, and quick service, Mona's Frybread offers phenomenal value. Many visitors agree that it is a must-visit spot, perfect for supporting small businesses while enjoying a tasty meal. Some even travel from Tucson just to enjoy the scrumptious offerings, including the powdered sugar fry bread.
