We stopped while charging our Tesla on the way to Flag. A cute, clean little diner with great burgers and honestly the best fries! Prices were very reasonable and the staff was very nice. Breakfast menu looks great and is served until 11am. There’s an easy little footpath from the Pilot station over to the diner (lighted at night) you’ll see it if you walk East at the back of the parking lot. Will definitely stop again on another trip.
CLOSED INDEFINITELY is what the sign on the door read 7-26-24.... pretty disappointing to drive by chilleens in order to eat at this diner and then discover this hastily taped and curling paper sign on the door. Damn shame, matter of fact
Replaced an order for takeout at the diner which is under a new ownership and has a new name. The service was great. Except that our order got mixed up with someone else's and I had to go back to get the correct item.
The 50s Diner Backseat Bar & Motel RV Park, now known as the Cordes Diner, offers a nostalgic dining experience and comfortable accommodations. The diner serves classic American fare such as hamburgers, onion rings, and fish and chicken strips. The owners are friendly and attentive, and the service is fast and efficient. The atmosphere is lively, with live music on weekends. The motel, situated near a Loves truck stop, provides a peaceful retreat with comfortable and clean rooms. The staff is compassionate and helpful, and the amenities include a golf cart service and a shower with amazing water pressure. Guests can enjoy a quiet and restful stay with a nice view. The place has a new ownership and a new name, but the food quality and service remain great. It's a popular spot for travelers, offering a combination of a diner, a bar, and an RV park.
