Love this place. So much food for a low price.

Chow mein was mushy and tasteless, needed a lot of soy sauce. Orange chicken was overcooked. Root beer wasn't sweet, probably out of syrup.

Great, polite, welcoming service. A Phoenix institution.

I believe this restaurant was first or most previously located on the northeast corner of Lindsay/Main Street until 2001 or '02. As I read from a recent review, they use no containing Yellow 5 in their noodles. Excellent!

Good food! Thanks a lot for the friendly staff being talkative and kind.
The Ambiente is simple and the dishes to choose from are limited though the cost is low and in sum it results in a good deal.
Thanks again for the great meal!
Important to mention that the food is cooked the southern Chinese style and tends to be more steamed than fried hence much less fatty than elsewhere.

I was born & raised in Mesa & have been going here since I was little. I feel like this is a place that often gets judged by how it looks but if you've grown up in Mesa, you get it & love it. Our family loves it & the people know us all by name. ♥️

Smallest buffet ever, everything super watered down. Not very clean. Gross bathroom.

Established 1976, Autumn Moon may indeed be the original Chinese buffet in the Valley. The recipes, the architecture, and signage all smack of the hopeful simplicity of its day. The rice and chow mein, pale with the age before Yellow 5 became the stock standard... at least 3 of the chicken dishes are based on the fried and battered example seen here, which is fine considering how good it and the accompanying sauces are. Nothing there disappointed. The atmosphere, the other patrons, even the soda water had a certain charm.

By the end, I was satisfied with the knowledge that I had consumed recipes likely unchanged in 48 long years. Another feature on the floor of the Valley... worn by dust and time, yet undiminished.

This place has made me happy for 40 years.

Reasonably tasty rice, chow mein, pork/lemon chicken etc. They're generous when it comes to portions in to-go orders. Make sure to get the lemon sauce for the lemon chicken, it's great. I've been going there since I was a kid (and I've got the physique to prove it) and they haven't changed anything in those 2+ decades - not the food, not the interior, nothing. To me, that's a good thing. It's just cheap, tasty Chinese food. Staff are friendly.

The interior is like a time capsule because this place seems to be stuck in the 90s. They have one of those toy thingies where you deposit 50 cents to get some prize. The walls are still the same color paint, the seats, the plastic plants, the crappy driveway, EVERYTHING - still the same. And I love that. I really hope they don't go out of business.

I stopped here for lunch and the food was pretty good I wish they had a bigger variety the Chow Mein noodles was a little disappointing because they were made with spaghetti pasta noodles but the rice and orange chicken along with the egg rolls would probably be my favorite part about this restaurant the staff were very kind and attentive it cost me about 12:50 to eat here and I do feel as if I got my money's worth

This was a favorite restaurant of ours when we lived in the area 40 years ago. On a recent visit we remembered that restaurant and were surprised to find it was still open. We enjoyed lunch there and the food is still as good as we remember. A great value.
