I've been coming here for a few years but after eating the chicken rolled tacos we got were some of the best I've eaten. Today, they used flour tortillas. They were crispy and light. My husband, son and I ate all 12 on the kitchen island out of the container. I also love their wings that they serve with the lightly pickled carrots. I've been coming here for two years for their menudo & it's one of the best here in Phoenix. The beautiful thing about it is that there is no wait time for Menudo. I guess that's why I'm just now putting a post about this restaurant. I was being selfish & wanted this place for myself but this establishment needs to flourish. This competes or beats the other well regarded mexican restaurants here in Phoenix. I've been coming here once every weekend...
We love this little place! Authentic comes to mind along with flavorful, homey, perfect! Service is prompt & attentive! If you are a fan of authentic Mexican with hospitality I highly recommend El Metate Mexican restaurant. We've been visiting for several years now.
