An old man with white hair glanced at us as we walked in, without saying hello, or anything akin to a greeting. 5 minutes later he walked yup with not a smile but a scowl on his face and barked, "What did you need??!!!" I was shocked at his rudeness toward me, but told him I called in an order. He said with the same grouchy attitude, "That's gonna be another 15 minutes!!" I said ok. I would've just walked out with that kind of rude and discourteous behavior, but I was already late for a dinner date, so I, along with my son, suffered thru the bad energy of the entire experience. He called out to another patron with friendly voice, "Your order is ready, have a nice day and Merry Xmas!" He waved at the guy with smile as he walked out. 5 minutes later he yelled out harshly, 'YOUR ORDER IS READY!!!!" and walked away. I looked at my son with wide eyes, and my son just shook his head in shock. The lady who took my money was nice tho, the star is for her, otherwise we would give no stars if we could. The pizza looked burned, and there is no CHEESE STRETCH at all, seeing as they hardly put any on. My son said it tastes like a Red Baron frozen pizza. My daughter said she liked the crust. Both said they would not like to eat it again. As for the experience in the restaurant, I have no idea why were treated so differently than the other patrons. Maybe because we are native Americans and the old man is racist? That's the only explanation I can come up with. We were the only brown skinned people out of the restaurant, the other people were treated warmly and with kindness. I was made to feel like I was not welcome, and being barked at like I was not a human being was a horrible episode, and we won't ever go back there again.

I almost hesitate to leave a review for this hidden gem of a pizza shop because I want to keep it all to myself. The service is genuine and the pizza is simply the best. It's the kind of place you want to keep a secret, but it's just too good not to share. If you're looking for an authentic, unassuming pizza experience, this is the spot!

I ordered by phone before we left to pick up. The man was curt on the phone, no biggie. We came to this place, our first time, we like trying new pizza. I walked in, and there was a couple eating and a man waiting. I smiled at the couple eating, and they hastily looked away and pretended not to see me. Odd, lol. Anyway, I went up to the counter and saw an older man working. He saw me, didn't say anything, and continued on with whatever he was doing. I always dislike that, when workers in the food industry don't acknowledge you when you walk in. Anyway, the old guy finally walks up to me, not with a smile or friendly greeting, but he barked, with a scowl on his face, "What do you need?" I, taken aback with the way I was spoken to, took a couple beats to gather my words, and he said, "You call in?? What's the name?" I told him, and he said gruffly, "It's gonna be about 15 more minutes!" I said ok and sat down. Now, the man waiting for his pizza got REALLY friendly service, the same old man called out to him in a friendly tone, "Hey your pizza is right here! Have a good day and Merry Christmas!" When our pizza was done, he rudely said, "You pizza is ready!" And he turned and walked away and mumbled something to an older lady, who walked over to help us. Mind you, with that first interaction with that totally RUDE man, I almost just said "forget it, not dealing with someone like YOU today!", which is exactly what I do whenever I get service like this, but I was already late for a dinner date with my daughter, and going to ANOTHER place and waiting would put me way past the hour. So, I chose to suffer through the unease of the entire encounter. Sitting in there with unfriendly patrons and an ill mannered, impolite and discourteous "man" did NOT make for a pleasant experience. I'm so glad we weren't eating there, because all I wanted to do was run from that place of bad vibes. It was 28 dollars for a large pepperoni, which was surprising, since the Yelp said it was an inexpensive place. Oh well. We finally sat down to eat, and I asked my fellow consumers their honest opinion of the pizza. Top comment, the crust is good, it's flaky like a pie. One said it tastes like a frozen Red Baron pizza. I thought that it was BURNT, (see pic) and the most important thing of all pizza, the cheese STRETCH. There's no stretch whatsoever on this pie. There was no flavor in the sauce, or the crust. But I did like the edge of the pizza, that was good. All in all, the ONE star is for the pizza crust and the pleasant lady who took my money at the register, I guess the man didn't want to take our check like he so nicely took the Caucasian man's before us. I'm native American, and I went there with my native American son, and we felt very out of place at this establishment, but I can't say if we were treated the way we were treated by that ill mannered man because of this. But what else could be the reason for the offensive attitude toward us? I have no clue. We won't be going back.

Felt like coming into a time warp. I went from downtown Mesa to Anytown, USA when I walked in. Super cool small town feel and the taco pizza is fantastic! Many places have tried, but this is one of the few that does it right.

Same wonderful pizza from years ago. So enjoyed our trip down memory lane! Small dining area but great service and excellent food. Some in our group got the spaghetti dinners and were thrilled.
