Food 3/5 I ordered the Cookie Monster flavor, which is Oreo pieces and Cookie dough pieces with blue dyed flavor. The ice cream was yummy, however it was nothing special to me. I would have preferred to have gone elsewhere. Ambience 4/5 The spot is unique and does lend to some interesting photo opportunities. The lack of seating made the experience of eating ice cream feel rushed. To me, ice cream is an experience that is best enjoyed slowly. I wish there was bathroom. Overall, the ice cream was okay, however I probably will not return.

They are aware of allergies, know which ingredients are in each flavor, and are very helpfulTonight all flavors were gluten free except tiramisu and cookie monster. They give you a gluten free wafer in the scooped ice cream and was tasty.Husband can have gluten and ordered the waffle sandwhich, and he really liked it too. Be ready to eat fast as the ice melts due to the freshly made waffle. It takes 5 minutes to be made and he said is worth it!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly

The owner is so nice and down to earth. I showed up maybe 10 min before they closed , (I know, I was that person) I was greeted by the owner with a great attitude! It was my first time there so he explained all the different type of flavors they had. He didn’t tell me this but I’m more than 100% sure he added love as the main ingredient. This place absolutely SMACKED. I was not disappointed! The location is a little hidden but it’s so cute ! Go check it out yourself (:
Parking: The location is tucked back in a alcove-alley type of area so you can't see it off the street. Your best option is to park on the street and head west by the Barber shop!
This place is great I highly recommend it. The donut ice cream is amazing. The flavors are great.

Walking to this location alone is a whole experience for me! It's tucked away in between several business and a simple window under an arch of vines and plants. So cute!! If I remember correctly, the ice cream maker of this business is award winning all over the world! The ice cream texture is so creamy yet cold enough to break into bite sized pieces, which I love. It melts very slowly and carries so much flavor in every bite. The flavors are on a rotation, but keeps three to five staple flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. The donuts for the ice cream are served warm and the glaze is delicious and very sweet by themselves. The staff is always very sweet and accommodating to my toddler who loves a cone and sprinkles. (They have kid scoops!)

Personally I don't get the hype. The dough melt was good but the donut over powers the flavor of the ice cream. There are very few choices for flavors and nothing I found intriguing. The prices were very reasonable and you can even do half of a single scoop for half the price for toddlers. Staff was very nice and the location is cute. I like ice cream with chunky mix ins instead of toppings. I wouldn't return due to personal preference. Edited: updating to 5 stars. Shawn the owner reached out and wanted me to give Novel another chance. I stopped by today to pick up a gift certificate and there were some yummy sounding flavors. I didn't want ice cream today but will return to use my gift certificates. Shawn is passionate about his business and has such a friendly crew. Thanks Shawn!
