Great food, but there outside seating is surrounded by selfishness humored signs. They do have great articles about the history of Pete's Fish and Chips. In which the articles of the history of the place makes up for the uncalled for signs. U know, like ur mama don't work here or don't give money to the homeless( but they use a different name then homeless)
We come to Pete's in Mesa every time we visit. It's one of those places that is nostalgic and comforting. You need to manage your expectations. This isn't fine dining. This is real, down to earth good food, served fast and very hot. It's cash only and has been forever.
The fish is pretty good and fresh, but there's no seasoning used. The fries had no seasoning on them either. Their signature Pete's sauce tasted like a mix of heavy ketchup, a small amount of cocktail sauce, and a few red peppers flakes. The sauce wasn't good. The overall value is great for the money. However, the food left me wanting something better. It is not likely I would go back again.
