Awesome tacos, and not too expensive either! Be sure to try the barbacoa!

Good food, well prepared. But same ‘ol, same ‘ol. Typical menu with nothing new or interesting. Our waitress rocked!

Great tacos, drinks and vibe. But know what you’re getting into. Usually the line moves very slowly because the order taker/cashier also mixes drinks and does it slowly. While I was there multiple people bailed out of the wait and went someplace else. And you wait in line, place your order and then get your drinks and your number and hope for an open seat and then they bring you your order. Someone cut to the front of the line to ask if there was table service and when they found out there wasn’t, they had to wait in line left. If you know what you’re dealing with and calibrate your expectations appropriately you’ll have a good time.

Never met a Taco place I didn't like....until Tacos Chiwas. If I could give 0 stars I would. Upon arrival, it was packed, so I thought it was a good sign. Boy was I wrong. Ordered 3 different tacos. Chicken, asada and another one I don't recall. Took a single bite from each, two I was able to swallow but awful. one, I had to literally spit out in my napkin. Like something a little kid would do, I know it was ridiculous. It was that shocking! Not because of too spicy, just the flavor. Not sure if it was the neat or the seasoning or marinade or what? Literally this has never happened to me before, like at any restaurant EVER in all my life. There's been places I've though well eh, it's ok but won't go there again, but was still able to eat the food. Thought I'd POLITELY ask for a refund, was Politely declined by the manager. She told me to look around, how popular and busy they are, no one has ever complained and since nothing was wrong with the order other than I simply didn't like it no refund would be given. It was a long shot but thought I'd try. 14$ lesson learned. Thank goodness I didn't get an order to go home to the family, as was the plan. Nope. Never again. Now I have to point out, that everyone else I was with, found their food fine. It was literally just me. Sometimes I will try a second visit when I go places but this was so shockingly awful, I just can't . Also, the place was hard to find parking, small and cramped inside but seemed clean enough.

The flavor of the tacos was okay, but they would have been much better if they had been served hot. Unfortunately, they arrived cold. I wouldn’t come back.

Best street tacos? Go to Tacos Chiwas! We went yesterday to the location on Mesa and had a great experience. The location, on Main Street, is simple and easy. Order at the counter, and almost before you can get seated, food arrives, freshly made, efficiently delivered. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. We love lengua tacos, abs these were perfect. We each ordered two, and had to go back for more. If you have ever been squeemish about eating tongue, ease into the experience by trying Tacos Chiwas lengua tacos. Of course they offer many other tacos and burritos abs dessert and drinks... it is the total packs, IMHO

went to mesa location today for early dinner. food was good. my only suggestion / complaint is maybe the service staff should try to improve their people skills . the guy who took our order at the bar was having a bad day, i think. very aloof to a point of almost being rude. not helpful and not friendly at all. my friend picked up on the vibe as well. maybe im being too sensitive, but he gave us the impression that he was more accustomed to having brown people in back cooking , rather than taking food orders from them. again , maybe we were wrong, but man it brought back memories of what mesa used to be. we were both born and raised in mesa, it would be sad if this was the case. i pray it is not.

Bartender only took my order when I first got there and then proceeded to have conversations with different men/patrons maybe they knew. I was never asked if I was fine or needed another drink for 45 minutes.

Overpriced, sub-mediocre so called Mexican food. I am a native AZ person and have eaten Mexican food all over the valley for 48 years. Today could have been an anomoly --- but I dont think so.
I drove 30 miles to give this place a shot -- total waste of my $ and time.

Ok IDK why ya'll are giving 5 stars. #1- The customer service is garbage. This was my first time here and I was excited to try it. I asked for suggestions and cash register girl was more interested in smacking her gum then being helpful. The waiter that dropped off our food, didn't smile, just abruptly dropped the food off and walked away. Train your staff.
#2- Food was mid at BEST. Glad I tried it for myself. wouldn't recommend to others and I wouldn't return.
