The ambiance was lovely, and the decor was clean and modern. It was our first time here, and our server, Dave, was kind and knowledgeable, with a very calming, professional demeanor. He helped guide us through menu options and made some recommendations that all turned out to be fantastic. The food: admittedly, I am not a big fan of liver, but my date is. So we tried the goat liver mousse and we both really enjoyed it. The housemade biscuits were definitely worth trying. We tried the grilled corn, which comes on the cob. Also delicious (that coconut caramel is crack.) For mains, we tried the whole grilled dorade, which was tasty; just be careful of the bones. And Dave recommended the goat curry as a house favorite, and its not hard to understand why. Absolutely delicious and a great portion. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
I came to celebrate my birthday, as this restaurant seemed like a nice and relaxed environment for the occasion, and the food seemed unique and inspired. While the food ranged from “okay” to “quite good,” nothing really blew us away. Despite making reservations, we were sat at the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. Too low to watch anything being prepared (this could've possibly been interesting to watch), but in the perfect spot to catch all of the noise. It was incredibly loud, hardly able to even have a conversation. Service was okay. The birthday experience left a lot to be desired (a candle in a dessert we already ordered), compared to other places that have put more effort into making it feel more celebratory. Overall, it was a very lackluster experience, but perhaps my expectations were too high.
Delicious food. Our server was very friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. Props to the kitchen for catching an allergen she hadn't been aware of. Big airy modern space. Whole place was a little in the weeds, but it was a Saturday night. They suggest that you share everything family style...in reality this is what will happen whether you wish it or not, as dishes arrive as the kitchen dispenses them, not as set courses. (We had no complaints, but you should be aware). Portions were good. We can't wait to come back!
First time here and we really enjoyed it. Definitely a small-plates style restaurant, so we ended up ordering quite a few dishes—especially since our college son and his friend joined us and they have never-ending appetites 😆. We sat outside and the ambiance was great. The food was delicious, and we tried several things we had never had before, which made it fun. The pork belly noodles, skirt steak, and hummus were all big hits at our table. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the martini was perfect. We're visiting from Oklahoma while our son is in school in LA, and this was a fun spot to try. We'll definitely be back. Probably a great place for foodies—picky eaters might have a harder time with the menu.
I had high expectations, but I'm so disappointed. None of the dishes we ordered were good—everything was just mediocre. The green beans were incredibly salty and hadn't even been cleaned properly. The salad was also very basic, and the pork shank was totally underwhelming in terms of texture.
I hit a home run booking this place for a business dinner with colleagues from out of town who are foodies. Exemplary service, food, atmosphere made it a great bonding night and we will be talking about the food we shared for years to come. Thank you so much!
Espresso martinis were fantastic! Sam, our server, was fun, informative, and helpful. Food was delicious and they even made extra accommodations to make some of the dishes vegan for us. Will be back!
Excellent, return worthy food ... we asked for an outside seating after reserving an inside, and sat next to a serving stand, the chairs were uncomfortable .. probably should have stayed inside. Great service tho... a great meal over alll ...
Great food. Have heard many good things about this restaurant. I went with a few friends for brunch and we shared a few dishes. They were out of the Ube Horchata and another food item, so that was a little disappointing. Food came out quickly, and we enjoyed the unique fusion of cuisines brunch had to offer.
Outstanding DTLA Arts District Hotspot. Pay attention to parking as access to parking lot can be confusing. Apps: Nan bread, Spicy Dip Handroll and Douloufakis - all great, shareable for 4 person party size. Main dishes: Goat Belly vs Pork Belly Noodled (hum, tough choice as both were excellent), Grilled Skirt Steak and Seabass, split party opinions but both faborable. Desert: Mango Sticky Rice vs Go Bananas Sundae, again split opinions by the sexes...bottom line: one of my favorite places. Cannot miss with any food choices, all great! Will return...

Dining at Girl & the Goat is always an incredible experience, and this visit was no exception. The food was amazing as usual — every single bite was packed with bold, creative flavors and perfectly balanced seasoning. You can truly taste the thought and care that goes into each dish. From start to finish, everything we ordered was outstanding and beautifully presented. A special shoutout to Mario, our server, who made the evening even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered fantastic recommendations. His warm and friendly personality elevated the entire dining experience and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Consistently delicious food paired with exceptional service — I can't wait to come back again!
This has been on my list for a while and it lived up to every expectation plus more! The food is unbelievable and very fairly priced for the quality
Superbly innovative combinations of flavors. The goat liver mousse is amazing. So is the goat belly with smoked blueberries and tzatziki. Bar is fire, too.
Food has too much sauce. Just go to an authentic Asian restaurant. Atmosphere is beautiful.
The Brunch meal was Very Limited. If you are expecting a Traditional type brunch menu, this is NOT the place to go. If you want an outdoor experience in a patio between two building, this is the place for you. Inside will be extremely loud during busy times.
