Went to order a pizza yesterday and was told they don’t offer it anymore. Oh well, it was by far the very best. I guess the owner doesn’t care ?? Good luck on making up the loss that you will have???

According to our server the Velvet Elvis is no longer serving pizza, calzones, etc. We didn’t find this out until after we were seated and waited a couple of minutes for the menus. Now the new format is to be a weekly menu. The website and FB page make no mention of this. Today’s menu had “Tapas” on one side and mostly salads on the other. The menu was very disjointed. Chips and Salsa as well as Chips and Guacamole (look good) were on the tapas menu as well as a small plate of rice for $4.95. I had a chicken dish with almond sauce that included no side. I had to ask the server if it included rice or anything else and he said “no.” Glad I asked. I added the $4.95 side of rice. The food was good but not great. Make the dish $16 and include rice. As mentioned the Tapas menu really didn’t have much in the way of Tapas. My wife’s “salad” was more like lettuce wraps. She enjoyed the food but would have preferred an actual salad.

I am not sure why they are going in this direction. Find some core staples that people like and include a weekly menu would be my advice. Certainly show the weekly menu online so people can decide if it is something they are interested in. I wish them luck.

My dad used to love this place but its a complete disappointment now. Also just check out the owners response to some of the peoples reviews! Completely disrespectful and out of touch to people who take their time to drive and pay their hard earned money for bad pizza. They rather hate on clients than accept an honest review and do better.

Unbelievable, you've got to go!

We took a drive from Tucson to escape the heat and try what looked like delicious artisan pizza only to be served some of the most basic, poorly prepared $30 piece of cardboard with toppings I’ve ever had in AZ. The dough is obviously frozen, and the toppings are flavorless, including the cheese. Additionally, the Velvet Margarita ordered with my meal was just pure sugar - hardly any alcohol at all, and terrible flavor. I wouldn’t suggest anyone eat here, let alone travel for it, especially at this price point ($100 for 2x pizzas, a margarita, plus tip).

Last night kitchen closed at 7 on a Saturday. Today Sunday at 6pm ran out of pizza???. Is the cook trying to run this nice lady out of business???

First time going, it was great. Mars and G were stellar. We got a pizza and a calzone, both equally unique and delicious. Give Mars a raise and continue to make those pizzas.

We used to come to Velvet Elvis every time we visited Patagonia, back when it was in its original location. We loved it. The pizza was always top notch. Unfortunately, much has changed since then and not for the better. The dough was subpar, seriously, even frozen pizza would be an improvement. It truly pains me to write this review but I believe honest constructive criticism can be helpful.

One of the few places around to eat dinner. This place has pretty high reviews, so, we were expecting it to be all right. We got two personal pizzas and the dough was so clearly frozen. For a pizza place, I'd at minimum expect the dough to be made in house. It was god awful. They brought out a dinner roll at the beginning of the meal. Also frozen. We were starving and had to choke it down to make the most of the meal since nothing else was really open. Eat anywhere else in town.

They screwed up several people in our large group. I have been there before and I just ordered a salad. The waiter messed up many different people's lunch. I would not recommend it to my friends

Ok so when we (my son and I) were greeted the man last name Angel sat us and didn't even tell us there was a patio. The bread was so crusty and dry on the top and the butter was so cold it was un spreadable. Way over priced for the experience. The pizza was cold and the crust was hard as a brick and the score on the pizza was even hard to cut. Not impressed.

Amazing staff and interesting art - with a Christian tilt. Drinks and toppings were great. The crust was so so.

Would not Recommend to anyone because they refused to service a disabled Veteran with a service dog. Don't Dine Here
