We just had a total blast at Below the Rim. We brought our kids up the Mountain from the Valley just to check this place out. It was totally worth the drive. The kids enjoyed playing games and exploring the forest.
My Husband and I enjoyed tasting all kinds of mead and the beautiful scenery.
The place is perfect! Wonderful setting, great Mead, awesome people all around, and such a relief in the woods! Love everything about this place, especially the Mead!
What an experience! I learned so much about this family fun operation from Mrs. Mitchell, who was my friendly server. So much this families life and experiences are shared in the details of the Meadery.
Wife and I got a flight of 4 tastes and a charcuterie platter. It was nice to sit out, listen to the running creek nearby and relax. Thankyou for the wonderful experience!
Really enjoyed our tasting and the owners were very friendly, knowledgeable and the service was great. We will return
This place was wonderful! It takes a bit to get to but it was so worth the drive. The service was great. The mead was outstanding! They have a mead for anyone to enjoy. I wanted to get a shirt to spread the word but they were out of my size, hopefully they get the online sales going soon! Such a cool little spot, highly recommend!
This place is adorable! The owner was so kind and explained all the options. They make all the mead with real fruit !! The blackberries are even picked locally! It’s just a fun place to visit and a beautiful drive to get there !!
Rude and very entitled owners ruined the experience. It was very difficult to find our way to the location as well with no help or assistance from staff either. Not worth the drive or the time spent there for sure.
Great place to stop after a hike. Owners were really friendly. Atmosphere is simple but has a great vibe. The route there (at least the one I took) is a ways down dirt roads including one water crossing with limited flow when I was there
Fun, unique experience. Hidden gem
We had a great day in Payson and just had to find this place to check it. I love how really in the woods it is. We had a great time taking in the scenic views, enjoying the quiet noises of nature, and tasting some delicious meads made from the berries and fruits right off the land there.
We were welcomed and everyone was very sweet and accommodating. It was lovely talking with the owners. If you have Celiac's Disease, this is customized for you in mind! It was a nice tidbit learning the back story of this place and how it came to be. Now, the meads are amazing. One of a kind flavors that are so crisp, smooth and clean tasting. They literally have 24+ flavors and they have everyone's tastebuds in mind. I love the fact it's made with honey. I had to grab a bottle of the N.B.R. (Nothing But Honey)!! You will love it! Fun place for families but food options and space is in limited. You are fully outdoors with plenty of shade and good music.
Will definitely be back and would recommend to stop here if you find yourself in Payson! Thanks!
This was such a nice experience. I've had mead but never mountain top creek side. My wife and I loved the atmosphere and mead; our favorite was the pomegranate. The staff was super nice and attentive, even while being busy. If you have a large group I'd call first.
Such a nice place hidden in beautiful forest. All of their meads we tasted were good, but the green chile was surprisingly my favorite, and black current was second favorite, it was very good. Their charcuterie was also amazing. Very friendly hosts and such comfortable outside seating.
Very cool place.
Had an amazing day with a friend who's been here before. Beautiful location you could just stay for hours, or days! Mothers day drink was spectacular, the flights of different meads where tasty and fresh. Bought a few bottles to bring home, but will definitely come back! Very much worth the drive from anywhere
Such a great hidden gem! We stopped by after hiking in the area and I can’t recommend it enough! There are a ton of different mead flavors including some really unique ones and they all taste just like what they’re named after. The owners are so nice and the patio is super dog friendly and cute! Such a fun place to check out if you’re ever in the area!
