This place is just as you are coming to Payson. We went this last weekend when rolling into town. Plenty of parking in back When walking in, it doesn't look like much. However we were surprised with the quality of the food. Very excellent. Its a counter order setup. Many items to choose from on the menu. The order came out to our table. Staff was friendly, told us what's good! We got the Ruben, The fish and Chips, and a Pizza. I'll attach a few pictures. The Ruben was thick meat, good flavor. Toasted right. The only thing I could add is that is was missing a good amount of sauerkraut. The pizza had great tomatoes on it. Highly recommend it even though my daughter was not a fan! Stop in and enjoy!

This is an amazing, family-owned and -operated restaurant. My family and I were on the way to the White Mountains from Phoenix for vacation and wanted to stop for lunch in Payson. We chose this place because of the reviews, and it was such a great decision!!! We all had sandwiches, and every one was done to perfection. Do. Not. Miss. The. Onion. Rings!!! Best we've ever had! We even took home apple pie for later. The owners were there and were so welcoming and friendly- they even let us bring in our dog. We loved this place so much that we stopped again on our way back home. Completely worth it!!! Look no farther, this is the restaurant you want in Payson.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we would love this place! First time in Payson and decided to try this place based on reviews- it did NOT disappoint! They have a dog-friendly patio and even gave us a water bowl and some ice for my toy poodle. We ordered the margherita pizza, chicken tenders, fish + chips, and the lobster shrimp roll. Everything was delicious! The service was amazing and I'm not sure if the man there was the owner, but he made us feel right at home. Loved talking to him! We will definitely be stopping by anytime we are in Payson (and maybe make a trip just to come again!).

This place saved my marriage! We didn't stop for breakfast on our road trip so I hadn't eaten since the night before, and I was getting pretty unpleasant. Approaching Payson, I looked for the highest rated restaurant and here it was! We ordered burgers and the lobster and shrimp roll, everything was delicious and we left much less hangry. The American cheese burger was a classic, and the Doc Holliday burger had onion jam for a savory/sweet combo I can't resist. (The lobster roll was for my Fancy Child, who needs to sharpen her food-reviewing skills, but she liked and ate it!) Super friendly service, very kind - offered my wife a free ice cream for her birthday. Absolutely recommend if you happen on by!

A surprisingly delicious, homemade, all American style restaurant honoring veterans and locals. Anyone passing through the area should swing by for some of the best ribs and ice cream in the entire area. Their pizza is also completely home made and decadent. If you have a sweet tooth also try their wide selection of pies. My complements to the chef and their military discount for veterans.

This family owned restaurant is amazing!!! Very friendly staff and our food was made to order. I had the Beer Batter Fish and chips and loved them!!! My son had the Lobster-Shrimp roll and said it was the best he ever had! My other son had The American Cheese Burger and he really enjoyed it! We finished with large scoops of mint chocolate chip and strawberry ice cream! We highly recommend and will be back!!!

I am ashamed to admit that today was the first time that we ate at Lasso American Scratch Kitchen. I am perplexed as to why we waited so long. We shared a Lasso Cheddar Burger and fries, along with a side of fried jalapenos. Oh my gosh!! Fantastic cheeseburger, and HUGE!! Hubby got a sampling of our friends Reuben Sandwich and said it was very yummy!! Service was great, value was wonderful, and food was delicious!! Can't wait to go back!! You all have got to check this place out! Food looked too good (and time was tight) to take a picture, sorry! Next time!! Half a burger was too big for me to finish, but I for sure finished the so yummy fried jalapenos! Can't wait to go back and try the highly recommended onion rings, and also the "only on special, but probably being added to the menu" the whole enchilada burger. Oh, also, these are clearly hand-patted real hamburger patties!!

On our way home to Show Low from Phoenix, we stopped here based on previous reviews. We pulled into the first open parking spot and were delighted to see a sign stating that this spot was designated for Veterans. My husband is an Air Force veteran, so it was an honor to feel welcomed with a special parking spot. Inside, we were cheerfully greeted by a young man whose attitude was extremely positive. He was helpful and asked about our military/veteran status; he thanked my husband for his service and applied a discount to our order. The welcome feeling grew. We chose a table near the window looking out on an outdoor patio and waited for our order to be called. My husband's burger was cooked perfectly and the Truffle fries were tasty. My Lobster & Shrimp roll was served heaping on a general hot dog bun. I particularly enjoyed the celery bits and sprouts in the mixture and that it was served with a lemon to squeeze on at my discretion. For my side I chose the AZ fries. The BOMBDIGGITY! Served with black beans, cheese, cilantro, Pico de Gallo, sour cream and a couple delicious fried jalapeños, my tastebuds were wholly satisfied. We will definitely be returning and will make the Lasso American Scratch Kitchen a must stop every time we are driving through Payson.

We walked into a fairly plain, empty restaurant for an early lunch. We ordered at the counter, got our own drinks and silverware and waited for our food. It took about 20 minutes since it is cooked from scratch as you order. As our meal was placed on the table, we were impressed with the thoughtful plating of all three dishes! Not what we expected! Even better, the food was amazing....really, amazing!! The coating on the fried fish was so light and crispy, some of the best I've ever had! The sweet potato fries were perfection! There wasnt any part of the meal that wasn't tasty!! Do yourself a favor and have lunch here!!

The food was amazing. We ordered burgers and the patties were perfectly cooked and so juicy! The truffle fries, holy moly! The jalapeño chips on the burger, goodness gracious! Did I mention the customer service was so friendly and inviting. Please visit this place and try everything you can on the menu. This was our first trip to Payson and I'm so happy we stopped here for lunch on our way home. I hope to make it a staple for my trips up north and you should too!
