My wife and I made a reservation (Scottsdale location) for last night at 6:45 pm for 4 people. My wife had been there twice before and I a week ago and were excited to bring our friends. We called to let them know that we might get there close to 7:00 as our friends had an AC problem at their house (108 degrees) the girl said no problem. We arrived ay 6:55 had to wait 5 minutes as the hostess was taking an order. When we checked in she said that she didn't have a table for us, we were 15 minutes late! She said there was no note to us calling and the manager behind the bar just said they were understaffed. They offered a table in the patio at 108 degrees! No Thank you! Bad excuse for a restaurant. We will not support a place that will not honor reservations especially since we followed up with them within an hour before. Please save your time and energy. We ended up going to The Mick Brasserie and we highly recommend them for great food and atmosphere!

A Mexicans restaurant charges $5.00 for chips and salsa! (Went to Urban Margarita up the street, was $1.00 for chips (happy hour) Server explained customers not happy with chip charge and looking to change at Urban. Mochilero, 2 entrees, chips, salsa, 1 tea and tip $50.00+

So good, we ate there two nights in a row. New takes on traditional Mexican dishes beautifully presented. Wait staff extremely helpful, explaining food and drink to us. I would recommend the Jalapeño Margarita--mildly spicy and sweet. I never thought I would enjoy this drink so much. Would love to work my way through the whole menu.

We came here for lunch and tried some of the combination plates. All of us were happy with our selections. The food is authentic Mexican. You can also order a flight of margaritas, which made it fun. There are regular daily specials and a happy hour, too.

Friends came down to visit and wanted a good Mexican restaurant and this was highly reviewed. Nice setup and great friendly service. Offering great lunch specials. Ordered a couple of soft tacos that were flavourful and with a lot of filling which I was surprised. Ordered the mushroom taco and the chicken taco and both very good. Friends ordered three taco combo with rice and beans and loved it and lots of flavours and plenty of food. Also offered flight of cocktails. Definitely going back.

A friend and I discovered Mochilero Kitchen by pure chance on Google Maps as I was looking for a new lunch place in the northwest part of Phoenix. We looked at the menu, and were impressed by the offerings - mostly traditional, but with things like molé and esquites that are not frequently found in chain restaurants. We started with the esquites appetizer (think elote, but cut off the cob). It was served with a bowl of thin, tasty chips. I had the tampiqueńa lunch plate and my friend ordered the enchilada plate. The flavors were excellent and we both enjoyed everything. We definitely will return!

A bit expensive however the food is delicious and tastes great. We were looking for someplace new to try and found this place a bit outta own normal area and we gave it a go. We are very glad that we did. We have been here twice and both times the food was great. the service was great and the place is clean and well kept. They do not have draft beers.

Three of us ordered house margaritas and asked when we might get them when separate food server came to take food order: told they were short staffed. Food came: Luke warm, all three. Told food server. Twenty minutes later our drinks came and when food server came back and said ‘everything good’? We asked what she’d had found out about the lukewarm food: oh yea, heat lamps don’t work. ‘What else could she get for us’? Personally, I wouldn’t go back but my husband really wants something in the West Valley to work so we’re giving it one more try. Reluctantly. It was our third visit and definitely a disappointment.

Had heard about this place from a couple folks who thought it was the best Mexican in the area. Humm- really?? While Mexican is certainly easy to like, most spots serve the "Border-Style" food that's all pretty much the same: very edible- ...but predictable. Now; if you've ever traveled to Mexico's interior, and cities like Puebla, Guadelahara, Mexico City, Veracruz, etc., you probably fell in love with the ingredients, and the incredible layers of flavors that come from those ingredients. Now we're talking GREAT Mexican cuisine, and this is what you'll find at Mochilero Kitchen. Our party of four started with their guacamole & chips. While I'm not usually a fan of tortilla chips & salsa before a meal (because you get too filled-up), I have to admit- their guacamole is excellent. Three in our party each had a differnt styled Margarita- all fresh tasting and excellent. I tried one (actually 2) of their Old Fashioed cocktails made with Anejo tequilla ......and couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. Entrees ordered included the: Relleno and Veggie Stack, Short Rib Chile Bowl, and Pork Carnitas Bowl. All with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Ecveptional! Excellent food; A surprizingly fresh/hip atmosphere (in spite of being located in a strip mall); Great service from our server Jace; and very reasonable prices earn a well deserved "Excellent" rating from this reviewer. We will definately return, and recommend (though I'd like to keep this spot somewhat of a secret). ;>)

Not a traditional Mexican American restaurant. The restaurant is new, comfortable, and friendly staff. The food is fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. It's a new take on traditional Mexican food and well worth our time and money. With Covid seating requirements an early dinner is recommended for it filled up fast after 6pm. Full Bar

Our new favorite place to eat when in town. I’m so glad we discovered Mochilero Kitchen! Everything on the menu is delicious. The owners and staff are friendly and fun. It’s obvious they take pride in their service and foods. Can’t wait to visit again!
