I miss the tostada as it was a good alternative when going gluten free.

We tried this location because we’ve been disappointed with the one closer to us. It was better. I was surprised that they had a changed menu- no more tostadas or enchiladas and that’s not reflected on the app- and the prices are different too. It is more of a Build Your Own style which is interesting. The bowl price also went up. Honestly, we had a good experience but I had a $10 gift card which made the price more worth it. At full price, I don’t know if it’s worth it to me. Cafe Rio isn’t what it used to be. In Utah, Cafe Rio was the best restaurant!! But in Arizona, we haven’t been to a Cafe Rio that lives up to the Utah versions. Too bad.

I will add too, the employee that helped us was very kind and did a great job. That was appreciated.

Through all the ups and downs Café Rio has been through, the chain as a whole seems to have rededicated itself to providing the fast fresh dining option we all enjoyed at its initial inception. Today I got a pair of sweet pork tacos on taco Tuesday and came away completely satisfied. Ingredients were fresh and the employee even drained the water off the pico like I asked to avoid soggy taco syndrome. You can’t get food this fresh from a chain for the 5 bucks I paid. On the whole, I have been impressed with their new menu options such as the bowls, elotes and corn salsa, grilled veggies, etc. Sure, there still are typical quality variances between locations likely due to expected employee differences, but on the whole, the chain seems to be in an upward improvement stage. They are by far one of the best chains out there for value, with many promotions, specials, and by far the best rewards benefits out there, which in the current economic atmosphere holds increased importance with all the chains that are literally robbing customers with ridiculous pricing.

This place is just too inconsistent. Just got a chicken bowl with tons of charred pieces and what I think was a bone. For the money this place is not worth it

Food is not good! Nowhere near Mexican. Someburros is way better. We were in the area and starving but will not be back.

Showed up an hour + before closing and no meat to really choose from but shredded chicken. Was told nothing else would be cooked. Food was pretty gross. Do no go to this location.

The service by Reyna at the 75th and Nell ave location was absolutely some of the worst customer service I have received, I asked the elotes side which they were out of and had less than half of the usual serving available, I said okay and they gave me the spoon full of elotes, the person making the food said I can just give this to you due to the amount and we don’t have more tonight….when I get to the register Reyna proceeds to say she’s charging me an additional 1.79, I said that’s not what I was told I it was less than half of a serving she then proceeds to say she charging that amount so I tell her I don’t want it if I can’t get a full serving for the full price I’m paying, she then proceeds to get a spoon on a fully made bowl
and scrape the toppings into the trash and use the same bowl to continue to pack up the same bowl, absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional and this is a restaurant I eat at regularly so to be treated with such disrespect is baffling of an experience and it definitely changed my outlook on this food chain if they have individuals like Reyna managing the location and treating g customers like this.

Cafe Rio offers some great food options as well as being very fresh food. Unfortunately this time we were so disappointed! We ordered burritos which both fell apart after the first bite. My tortilla was floury while my husbands was soggy. After the employees put the meat and cheese in they wrapped it up and decided to put the lettuce, pico, cilantro, sour cream, etc all on the side! Who has lettuce on the side of their burrito? It also took the employees a solid 5 minutes to acknowledge our existence. The chicken was good but that was about it. Very unfortunate.

Went for Taco Tuesday special which is a good deal. I had shredded beef / chicken tacos and they really tasted good BUT had to drain them first. Everything is sloppy wet which I don't care for but if you're okay with that- this place is for you. Only enough seats for about 10 people inside & feels crowded. Can sit outside if you want.

Customer service is very poor. People working there are not friendly at all.
