Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Ice cream was fantastic! Creamy & not too sweet where it’s overpowering. Was a bit of a wait in line, but the staff were very nice. Would go back!

As much as I love Handel’s, we got there at 9:50, there were other people in line and they wouldnt let us join the line even though they were still open and we only wanted a small dish.

I love the ice cream here, but every single time I come there is only 1 window open. There are 8 windows for the building, but I have been here 10+ times with a very long wait to order and get the food because of the lack of staff.

Is it possible to open more than 1 window? There are 8 windows and I've never seen more than 2 open....usually only 1.

Back again.. still only 1 window open. Oh wait, another window to serve. Hmmmm

Had to have an order redone twice. They completely forgot one order.

Staff extremely rude and disrespectful. I'm a delivery driver with a major service. Employees not helpful. Did not have customer's order ready. If I could give a negative star review I would. As a driver for a delivery service I am expanding your business. Do better.

UPDATE: In response to Handel's response, thank you for the history lesson. That explains the similarity of the layout and experience of ordering. However, that does not explain the difference in quality and freshness. Again, I am comparing this shop to a Bruster's in PA since I have not tried a Handel's in PA or a Bruster's in AZ. As I stated below, I plan on trying your ice cream again...maybe the experience was a one-off. But, if you do not believe so, and this is your standard for quality and freshness, then so be it. Thanks again for the history :-)

Meh. I gave 3 stars because the employees are beyond awesome, and the blueberry cobbler ice cream was good but not more than that. The mint chip went directly to the trash. Not minty at all and a gummy texture. Their waffle cones were overly crunchy and tasteless. This said, I am comparing them to Bruster's. We had the pleasure to try the original in PA, and OMG they are amazing. I cannot speak for the Bruster's in Glendale. I am not one to try a place just once...it could have just been a bad ice cream day. So I will try again, and I am hopeful it will be better.

It's my favorite spot for ice cream. I visit three times per week. It's day free and helps you lose weight.

The brownie dough and strawberry sorbet were amazing! Definitely recommend.
