Most of these reviews are for Aiello's, the past owners. It is skewed heavily to the positive because of this. I have tried the new version twice and both times I was underwhelmed with both the food and the prices for the food. This is not including how the owner consistently shows that they can't handle criticism online or even in person. To be fair it could have been the management staff but my guess is they are the same person. The first time I went they were closed for the remodel and I talked to someone there that said no major changes were planned and to come back when they were ready. Liars! Everything was changed, staff, menu, decor, EVERYTHING! I understand that they purchased the placed and have every right to run it as they see fit but they also had the right to not lie about it just to get me back in the place. That is why I recently went back...maybe I was just pissed about being lied to last year...nope, all my issues were still present. AND no, it is not my "American" tastes!

This place was a long time staple in the community. Sadly, News owners bought it and the food, service and quality went downhill. The restaurant is now closed.

Cannot recommend. Poor service and did not even have bread. Average at best food. Agree with comments below that owners do not appropriately handle feedback. Everyone can learn and grow from mistakes.

I hardly ever write a review. But, I suddenly feel compelled to do so after seeing the owners response to dissatisfied customers. I can sympathize with with the owners because I know how difficult it is to please the masses. However, this is a community of people who want to support their local businesses and find a great eatery at arms length. And it really doesn't seem the owners based on their responses want to learn anything from the feedback being given to them. I'd like to share my own experience at Aiellos under new ownership and I will only state the facts. We were excited to return once the construction was complete as we were dedicated customers to Aiellos. We weren't aware of the new ownership until we were there but decided to give it a chance. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess. Our server (which I assume was the new owner) was dressed in her street clothes. We asked about the previous owners and the response, let's just say wasn't very nice. We received a basket of 3 small slices of bread (there was 2 of us) and two different butters that were tasty and well described. After we finished our pasta dishes that in our opinion were good but not great. We left questioning If we would ever return. We did not feel very welcomed. The owner wasn't very interested in us as customers, but focused on how great their ingredients are and how popular some menu items are amongst other customers. She also disclosed the the pizzareia will be their new sandwich shop because their is no market for pizza by the slice. Being a New Yorker, I was shocked by this. I can't tell you how many times I ordered pizza by the slice next door. We were disheartened because we love to support our local businesses and this restaurant is only blocks away from our home. And it's the only local Italian restaurant in this area. I will say that the original owners always welcomed us and the service in our opinion was warm and inviting. The food was great! And we were never concerned with pricing. Because, what matters is the experience. The former owners were consistent in the experience they gave their customers. With that being said I hope that your restaurant is a success. But don't disengage your community. Take the feed back an be better, do better. And maybe one day we'll return.

My husband and I ate here a few months ago. This was the first time we'd eaten here under the new ownership. They have opened up the restaurant tables and it doesn't seem as cramped and dark as it used to. The bread and specialty butters were excellent. I'm a little picky and I don't like mushrooms so I was fairly limited as to what I could order from the menu. The pasta I had was okay, my husband thought his was mediocre at best. The service was slow and our server came out in jeans and shirt that were dirty from cooking in them. As pricey as this restaurant is, I thought that was a little out of place. I was hoping we'd really love it as we like to support local businesses, it was just okay in my opinion.

Went to dinner 4-8-23. Very disappointed. The best part was the young lady who sat us.( no name tags) The bowls of pasta are very small for $20. They bring you bread which was good but, they bring you something that is not butter. The mushroom meal was salty. The owners were not very personable (at least towards us) the husband kept talking to one table..Maybe it's us, my parents came from Italy but the food/portions/prices were definitely not worth it. Sad to say we will not be returning.

The food was excellent especially the mushroom pappardelle. The wine is expensive starting at $18/glass but the choices were very good. I had a Primitivo at $22/glass and it was delicious. I think the ambiance could be improved as they don't have shades on the windows so the sun was right in my table mates eyes. They're new owners so I will go back again.

We had a great dinner here tonight. The owner is very nice and the servers are extremely friendly and do a fabulous job. We had delicious food and stellar service. They were very accommodating with my allergies. We definitely recommend this restaurant. It was well worth the hour drive.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free options and are very accommodating.

Server was nice. Bread and butter made in house were phenomenal. Bruschetta was very tasty. Cacio e Pepe had good flavor but low quality noodles were like glue. Glass of wine is $26! New owners should gut entire site as it is depressing. Outside patio needs plants, lighting, weekend entertainment or music. Get rid of tv inside - feels cheap considering cost of food and drinks. Will not return despite very close to home and overall good tasting food. Disappointed.

Incredible Dining and Cocktail Experience! My wife and I stopped in for the first time this past Saturday. We regret not doing so sooner. Our dinner at The Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar was an awesome experience. The food was incredible, from the freshly made meatball over polenta as an appetizer, to the Iberico pork which is a MUST try. Seriously, try it! The pork eats more like a steak. The medium preparation (my preference) was so tender, yet the outer meat of the pork was lightly crisped to perfection. I crave this dish.Travis, the owner, recently revamped the cocktail menu (which as of today differs from the more traditional menu that's still online). His skills as a bar master certainly shine through with the high quality ingredients and preparation. I'd suggest you try the Rum in Rome (their Italian take on tiki). If you catch Travis working the bar on a slow night, ask him to be creative. My wife did, noting a preference for Gin, and the on the spot concoction he created with Gin and Mezcal was superb. I'll note that the happy hour pricing looked great and you'd probably be hard pressed to find such quality drinks at that price anywhere else in town.Speaking of Travis, his passion and artistry for food and drink really shines through. The menu may not be large, but from what we tried, I've confidence that each dish is exquisitely curated and and meticulously put together for the right balance of flavors. While chatting with him about food and drink we touched on topics such as bartending, acidity, his R&D process for new menu items, and more. Travis is really a food scientist and perhaps a mad genius when it comes to his craft. :) We enjoyed talking to him about his background and his talents just as much as we did the incredible meal. We look forward to making it back in soon!

The Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar exceeded our expectations for our casual business dinner. Despite being short-staffed, the owners kept operations flowing smoothly with few delays in service. They were friendly, welcoming, and gracious. The food was excellent, served piping hot, and my colleagues were all pleased with their meals (which doesn't always happen). We especially recommend the Gnudi, Artichoke Cappelletti, and Beef Cheek Ragu.

Got the ravioli for $28. Four (4) ravioli makes them at $7 each. $52 bottle of wine that sells for $14 at the store. For four (4) of us the bill was $210. Walked away hungry.Service was weak. Not an impressive place. Bet they are out of business soon.Major downgrade from previous owner.
