It’s more of a to-go place. Not a place to sit and drink your coffee. The espresso was flat, by that I mean it lacked any of the crema that a good espresso has on top, and had cooled by the time they got around to giving it to me. One lady was nice the other lady must’ve been running late that morning because, when I walked in at 6:03, she told me very plainly that the store doesn’t open until 6:00 and showed me the door.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has such a welcoming vibe. The space feels open, airy, and modern, which makes it a nice spot to hang out. My only small critique is that for such a sized shop, there aren’t as many tables as you’d expect, so seating can be limited.

That said, the drinks more than make up for it. Their seasonal menu is excellent. I’m usually not a pumpkin spice fan, but their pumpkin latte completely won me over smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re nearby.

The service is incredible, the vibes are laid-back but full of energy, and everything feels authentically welcoming. What really sets this place apart is the coffee itself — it’s not drowned in milk and sweetener. You can taste the quality of the beans in every sip, smooth and bold all on its own. The best part? The iced coffee comes with coffee ice cubes, so the flavor never waters down. The food is just as fresh and delicious, making this my new favorite spot for both a pick-me-up and a bite. 100% recommend!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who came here initially because of the name of this place. But it actually is some bad ass coffee. Lol. Great latte, cold brew, and sandwiches on Hawaiian rolls. Also excellent service by friendly and helpful staff. I'm just visiting Phoenix for a convention. I don't live here. But if I did, I would totally frequent this place! I highly recommend!
