The presentation was great, taste was 3 out of 10. Just not what it used to be - eggs were over cooked, potatoes were cold, service was horrendous. Don't waste your $

If you're craving authentic birria that transports you straight to the streets of Jalisco, Birrieria Obregon is your spot in Phoenix—hands down the best I've found! Tucked away in the heart of the city, this unassuming gem serves up tender, slow-braised beef birria that's been simmering for hours in a rich, spicy consomé infused with chiles, garlic, and just the right kick of cumin. I went for the classic quesabirria tacos: crispy corn tortillas stuffed with melty Oaxaca cheese, juicy shredded meat, and topped with onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Dipped in that consommé? Pure bliss—each bite explodes with flavor, and the consomé alone is worth the trip, savory and soul-warming.
The portions are generous (hello, value for money!), and the service is warm and speedy—our server even recommended the horchata to balance the heat, and it was spot-on refreshing. Prices are fair for the quality; we fed two for under $25 and left stuffed and smiling. Pro tip: Go hungry and order extra tortillas for sopping up that broth. I've been back three times in a month, and it's only getting better. If you love Mexican food that hits all the notes—bold, comforting, and unforgettable—Birrieria Obregon deserves a spot on your must-try list. ¡Vámonos!

Been a Customer for over 6 years, never been an unhappy customer. Prices have gone up.. but that's understandable. My favorite part of the restaurant is the fact that it's more open and way more space. Makes it so much for comfortable and space to walk around tables. The food has always been fresh. Food comes out piping hot, and drinks are freshly made. Thankful for a restaurant that has a Variety of plates to choose from.

The birria soup and tacos were amazing, with fresh tortillas that tasted super authentic. The salsas packed a spicy kick, the service was great, and I’d definitely recommend this spot.

I recently visited this birria restaurant, and it is hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in Phoenix to date. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff. Our drinks and food were taken promptly and served in a timely manner. Anytime we needed something, the staff was attentive and quick to respond.

The cooks also deserve recognition the food was absolutely incredible, full of flavor, and clearly made with lots of love and care. The restaurant itself was spotless and well maintained, which added to the overall experience.

Everything about this visit showed true teamwork and professionalism. I have nothing but positive things to say. Keep up the amazing work! I will definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant to others.

Horrible customer service!! Came to order take out and was told order would be ready in 10 minutes. Waited almost 30 minutes before my order was handed to me. Turns out my order was ready way before the 30 minutes and nobody said anything because the cashier was too busy chit chatting and gossiping with the workers. Avoid at all costs! Food was already cold by the time I got it. Don’t come here unless you wanna pay $30 for cold food.

The machaca egg breakfast burrito was mainly egg and veggies the machaca looked like it was missing in the scrambled egg. Burrito too expensive for the quality of it.
