The machaca egg breakfast burrito was mainly egg and veggies the machaca looked like it was missing in the scrambled egg. Burrito too expensive for the quality of it.

super nice upgrades now. I've been a client of almost 10+years. I've ran thru this place with all my pregnancies and its the first birria in the world I've tasted that doesn't smell like animal sebum! its fantastic, the gals there are always on top of their service. they truly make you feel like you are visiting in their home kitchen, its great šŸ‘šŸ»

First time here. Got the del Mar omlete, it was really good. With a agua de Jamaica. This place is really clean, nice restrooms, awesome service. The servers would walk by and ask if everything was good, and if we needed anything quite often.

I visited Birrieria Obregón recently and sadly, it fell far below expectations:
• Blurry, outdated menus: The menus were hard to read, poorly formatted, and seemed last updated ages ago—far from the organized presentation you’d expect.
• Rushed service: From the moment we sat down, the server hurried us to order and cleared plates precipitously, giving the whole experience a rushed, impersonal vibe.
• Lackluster flavor: The food arrived bland and uninspired. As someone who appreciates bold Mexican flavors, I was disappointed by how flat and flavorless everything tasted.
• Sparse guacamole: I ordered a burrito specifically for the guacamole, but received only a meager smear—not enough to enhance the dish or justify ordering extra.
• Overly sweet agua fresca: Supposedly fresh water tasted more like a powder-flavored drink—far too sweet and artificial, completely missing the refreshing quality I look for.

Overall, between the unappealing menus, hurried service, bland dishes, skimpy toppings, and overly sweet drinks, this visit was a major letdown. I hope Birrieria Obregón uses this feedback to improve—because right now, it doesn’t deliver the quality or value any diner deserves.

This place is super cute inside--modern murals, fun decor, and even some cool luchador artwork near the bathrooms. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and patient, especially since my Spanish is pretty limited.

I originally came in craving chilaquiles, but the Huevos Campesinos caught my eye--tamale, over-easy eggs, refried beans, and potatoes and I'm so glad I went for it. The tamale was the standout: sweet, soft, and perfectly made with that classic corn flavor. Everything on the plate beans, eggs, and potatoes was delicious and hit the spot.

I also tried an al pastor taco, which was just okay on its own, but definitely better once I added some salsa for extra flavor.

I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area. Still thinking about trying those chilaquiles next time!

Food was good; had beef birria and menudo, both were good. Been here twice, first time service was very spotty (long wait for food, forgot drink order and didn’t bring dessert as requested); 2nd time service was good so expect some inconsistency there.

Maybe it’s a location thing, but here’s my experience...? The first time I tried this spot was the one on Van Buren, and the menudo tasted just like my family’s which is rare! Most restaurants love to load up the broth with oregano, but we prefer to add it afterward, if at all. Personally, I don’t like oregano in my menudo. For me, it’s best plain. I know some people want everything plus the kitchen sink in there but not me.

The menudo here had the perfect ratio of hominy to tripe. My only complaint? The broth wasn’t spicy still had flavor though!

I usually order a quesataco de chivo birria and love it, but I went with a plain one this time and regretted it; the tortilla got soggy. Lesson learned.

The taco de chicharrón, on the other hand, was PERFECT. With tacos, I do put everything on them and red salsa on top. I really enjoyed that one taco.

I might need to test my theory and see if this is truly a location thing. Because that first bowl of menudo from Van Buren? I LOVED IT THERE!

Disgusting ā€¼ļøšŸŖ³šŸŖ³ First and last time I go to that restaurant... terrible service, for a spoon I had to ask for it twice and it never arrived. And in one of the birria plates there was a COCKROACH 🪳🪳🪳😭🤮🤮. From the moment you enter the place it looks dirty.. I forgot to take a photo of the disgust!! But I wouldn't recommend that you go to eat here 🤢🤢

The birria is terrible, it tastes like pure cloves, they don't know how to make it, the tortillas are served cold and the waitresses never come back to ask if you need anything else, I highly recommend the sinsonay, which is there right away, one hundred percent Quality of everything, it was closed that day That's why we went there, we'll never go back.

A few days ago I bought goat and beef birria, my son and my husband ate the goat birria and they got sick with diarrhea
I ate beef and I didn't get sick. I don't think we'll buy more. It's a shame because it never hurt us.

Place is small so it's hot inside.food is not great ,this place is overhyped, the birria bombs I buy are better ,the flavor of the birria needs more spices it's just watered down and it's not good ,the menudo has a strange taste and expensive for the size.the birria quesadillas are 7 dollars each without consome .I ordered a consome and it was just water with chile guahillo .does not taste good and the salsa was not good aswell ,? the cebada and horchata were not good .nothing was good ? but here are some cute pics ,we spend 73 dollars and I want my money back
