Black Bear Diner Scottsdale

I’ve eaten at Black Bear restaurants in the past but this one was exceptional. The food was fresh and the service was outstanding. The interior could use a refresh but it appeared clean.

What a delicious, local restaurant with every imaginable breakfast item in large portions. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our server, Mia. The local patrons also noticed and welcomed us. We love Scottsdale and when coming annually always plan to make a stop at the Black Bear Cafe. Can’t wait to try the desserts in the future.

There was a wait, said they'd clean a booth, hostess gave our booth to someone else she apologized but to be fair I was wearing bright red everyone else was wearing dark colors so the fact she didn't see us was odd, we were given a table right after got to our table and it wasn't properly cleaned it had for example opened butter packets and coffee creamers , I asked for a medium rare burger and it was well done (no I didn't want to wait 20mins more for a new burger) the coffee that we asked for was basically a light toast so we asked for different drinks the waitress was kind enough to not charge us for the replaced drinks, it was a very busy day so the waitress couldn't really check on us

I believe her name was Kirsten, she has her son working there also. Beyond inviting us in he greeting us at the door, , sitting us and having a sense of humor along with Kirsten having a great sense of humor completely professional knows how to have a good time.just a good damn human along with Son.. Thank you both! Ppl can/should lean from you both.

Cozy casual, warm atmosphere and home style cooking.

Our waitress was great. The food here is always great. I wish there were more of these restaurants.

The food is not very good, quality texture taste overall needs to be changed when you go into Denny's and IHOP you know it it's like a lot of times literally like wow yummy yummy you have to bring it if you're going to have a diner Black Bear Diner definitely comes up quite a bit short especially comparing it to those other two there's no comparison, that's too bad I'm not saying it's not fresh it's just really really missing the mark.

We decided to stop off at this black bear diner because we've been to other locations and had a great experience each time.

We were seated in a booth and that was where the bad experience started. Tons of flies all over the windows. We informed our server that we were moving to a table instead of the booth in hopes that the flies wouldn't be on that side. Unfortunately, they were and that alone ruined our experience.

Our server Julianne, was nice, funny and attentive and she even apologized for those little nuisance. 🪰

Maybe we just got there on a bad day but I've seen other reviews where they too had fly problems. Don't think we will go back to that location.
