Buck & Rider is one of our favorite spots, especially when we’re craving fresh seafood. The oysters are always top quality, and the cold seafood platter is a must — beautifully presented and incredibly fresh every time. We also loved the Brussels sprouts, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Their happy hour is amazing with great deals, and the cocktails are creative and well-balanced. The atmosphere is splendid — lively but still comfortable — making it perfect for both date nights and nights out with friends. Always a great experience here.

My favorite are the crab cakes from the dinner menu. Lunch is definitely a smaller portion.

One of my favorite spots for oysters in Phoenix. The staff alone get 5 stars. They’re all so nice, fast, professional, and collaborative. The food is always so great and the kitchen is incredibly fast. Love celebrating my birthday here.

It was dinner for our anniversary. Steph S. helped us have an amazing dinner and time. The food was absolutely amazing. The steaks were butter tender and the sides were delicious. We had to try their lemon meringue pie oh my goodness soo good. The managers greeted us even. We will be back.

Went back again only to be disappointed.

Went to Buck & Rider expecting a quality dining experience, especially given the reputation and pricing. Instead, we were told that they had run out of food and were unable to serve several menu items. At a full-service restaurant, this is simply unacceptable.

If you’re going to position yourself as a high-end seafood spot, basic inventory planning should be a given. We made the effort to come in, only to leave frustrated and hungry. Very disappointing experience and not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber

Even more frustrating was the manager’s response — completely unhelpful and unwilling to do anything to make the situation right. 2/4/2026

We had a fantastic first visit to this restaurant and would have easily given it five stars. Unfortunately, our second experience didn’t live up to expectations.

From the moment we walked in, things felt disorganized. The host stand was managed by a group of teenage staff who seemed more interested in their phones than assisting guests. Despite the restaurant being no more than 50% full at 9:30 p.m. on a Monday, we still had to wait about 12 minutes to be seated. When we were finally taken to our table at 9:45, we were placed near a busy service station by the bar—an odd choice given the many open tables.

I politely requested a different table, but instead of immediately accommodating us, the hostess asked us to return to the front, where we waited an additional five minutes while the staff struggled to figure out where to seat us. Frustrated, I finally asked for a manager, who seated us right away. At that point, I was ready to leave, but my wife convinced me to stay since we were starving.

Thankfully, our server, Haley, turned the night around. She was an absolute rockstar—friendly, engaging, and attentive. She even noticed a picture of our French Bulldog on my phone and shared that she also had one, which made for a great conversation. Haley’s service was outstanding, and she’s the only reason we’d consider returning. If you visit Buck & Rider, we highly recommend requesting her—you won’t be disappointed!

While the restaurant has potential, the front-of-house organization needs serious improvement. A well-run host stand is the first impression of any dining experience, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark.

Another great experience at Buck & Rider. Our server, Bailey, was delightful! The Brussels sprouts are not to be missed. The shrimp ceviche was excellent, as was the Crab Louie salad.

Sad at the bar and this was terrific. Ask them for a desert of the macaroons they are to die for. I was over all very impressed

Not a fan. Service from the front of house to the waiter was a 2/5 at best. Was there for my wife's 65th bday and specifically requested a table by the outdoor fireplace; they of course initially tried to seat us elsewhere so they are not even reading the reservation. When we walk in to most restaurants they immediately address you and at least seem to be happy that you are there. This place it seems like they care less and that's a failure of management, staff that don't care and fact they are busy. Won't be coming back.
